Lego: The Movie

I don't even know why I'm surprised.

http://movies.ign.com/articles/101/1013171p1.html

I just wonder what studio will release a rival Mega Blocks feature.

Like you'd need to ask? Asylum!

Re: Lego: The Movie

I hope this doesn't interfere with Spielberg's planned Lincoln Logs biopic.

Re: Lego: The Movie

This doesn't even make sense. What's next, a Monopoly movie?

Re: Lego: The Movie

This would have been cool if it was a *batteries not included style film with them talking shapes of any inanimate object. Perhaps they'll go with a "mystical or haunted blocks that some lonely kid finds stowed away."

It does if you know anything about the dozens of Lego characters that inhabit kids rooms and video games all over the world.

Yeah, but how the fuck do you make a Lego movie? I mean, they're Legos.

Re: Lego: The Movie

I don't think it's really that hard. I mean, they had a cartoon show about a Rubik's Cube in the 80s. This can't be far off.

LEGO is its own plural. Thank God you aren't in charge of the script so it can live up to its full potential

And if you were in charge it wouldn't have proper punctuation either.

I had no clue that Lego was the plural for Lego. I always thought they were called Legos.

Re: Lego: The Movie

I too though the plural was Legos. If this movie is made with only hardcore fans in mind, I probably wont be able to enjoy it. What with all the little nuances and complex backstories.

I just hope they go with the original origin story by Kedzie Matthews.

Re: Lego: The Movie

Isn't Lego just the company name? I don't think it's a plural of itself. You have one Lego set or two Lego sets, one Lego brick or two Lego bricks, etc... (though everybody in the history of the world refers to them as Legos, not Lego bricks)

Didn't they have a commercial "LEGO MY LEGOs"?

Re: Lego: The Movie

This might actually be tolerable if it was all animated, like the cutscenes in the video games (but with voices, I presume). Alas, it will have live-action.

I don't know if you were kidding or not, but Ridley Scott actually is in talks to make a movie based on "Monopoly." No, I'm not joking.
