Since he filmed footage, We can talk about James Cameron's Dive.

DAMN, I had no idea about him doing this until this morning. Solo voyage to the bottom of the Mariana Trench....seven miles down. Holy shit, James Cameron. Can't wait to see pictures, and hear about more findings in the coming month.

Yeah, it was all over Twitter yesterday. Sub is actually pretty small. I'd still be scared shitless.

He mentioned that once he gets a few more dives completed he's going to start concentrating on Avatar 2/3.

He earned my respect. Makes the two most profitable movies of all-time and then risks his life to go deep sea exploring.

Indeed. Only saw "The Abyss" and "True Lies" once, so I don't remember them very well but I love both Terminators, Aliens, Titanic and Avatar.

Thankfully there are plenty of books to go around, so to each their own.

Re: Since he filmed footage, We can talk about James Cameron's Dive.

Will his footage be a theatrical release or part of a cable tv special?

Gotta admit, he might be a noted hard ass, but he backs it up.

This is a joint venture with Cameron and National Geographic so chances are it's going to be a special, but since it was shot in 3D it could probably be a documentary.

If you'd like to read more about just how much of a hardass he is, give THE FUTURIST by Rebecca Keegan a read. I had never devoured a big as quickly as that one.

Here's a video talking about the making of the special watch Rolex made for this dive.

Makes the two most profitable movies of all-time
Also two of the most highly overrated films ever.

Considering how much people have enjoyed bashing Titanic since it came out, "overrated" is the LAST thing that film is.

You mean he didn't do this in suit while breathing liquid oxygen?

Alien

It's a decent action film but let's not throw around the word "great" like it has little meaning.

I have to disagree. Alien IMO is an excellent Sci-Fi/Horror movie, and Aliens is an excellent Sci-Fi/Action movie.

Re: Since he filmed footage, We can talk about James Cameron's Dive.

I agree. It's hard to compare the two even though they're part of the same series. Alien was a horror movie; Aliens was an action flick.
