Favorite Cannon Films Action Star?
For anyone under the age of 35, you've probably never seen any of The Cannon Group's movies from the 80's to early 90's.
Just wondering who was your favorite action star from the assortment of cheesball action movies they produced?

Re: Favorite Cannon Films Action Star?
For the people surprised by the inclusion of Richard Chamberlain. He did do 2 Cannon action movies.
King Solomon's Mines and Allan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold:

Franco Nero kind of started the 80's Ninja action movies with Enter the Ninja:

Although it was his only Cannon movie.

Steve James would have turned 60 last week. I always liked him and thought he was pretty badass.
It's too bad that he never got a chance to be a lead in a Cannon action movie. The closest he came was probably American Ninja 3. Normally he was stuck playing Michael Dudikoff's sidekick.

Voted other. Lee Marvin if one film counts. A shitty movie at that. A lot of great stars in movies I cannot stand. The one Cannon film I like, and the best one, is Runaway Train with Jon Voight.

Really You thought The Delta Force was bad? It's my favorite Cannon movie. Norris and Marvin were great together. It was cheesy in that it took the whole 1970's all-star cast approach to an action movie, but it next to Executive Decision was probably one of the better pre-9/11 Terrorism action movies.

The Delta Force was Cannon's action movie pinnacle. Nothing else even comes CLOSE.
I voted Norris, Steve James, and Michael Dudikoff. Although in retrospect Sybil Danning and Lou Ferigno should have been in the poll.

If you didn't vote for Charles Bronson, then you should go shave your vagina.
Because not liking Charles Bronson would make you a woman, and therefore have a vagina.

Re: Favorite Cannon Films Action Star?
I was just at the Alamo Drafthouse tonight and saw American Ninja 2 on their midnight showing in 35mm... so this is pretty well timed. They're going to be touring Cannon films in the next year or so around a few parts of the country (and are making a full length doc about them to accompany).
Michael Dudikoff gets my vote for being so horribly awesomely bad in everything he's in. can't teach that folks.
Exhibit A

I saw INVASION USA at a 42nd Street theater on a double bill with NINJA III: DOMINATION and they showed the trailer for DEATH WISH 3. Good times.

From the Poll I chose Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sho Kosugi, and Sylvester Stallone even though I haven't watched a Charles Bronson or Chuck Norris movie in years. Of those my favorite is Sho Kosugi. I remember watching the movie Pray For Death many years ago and that it had a positive impact, liked it alot, but now that I'd like to buy it, can't find it on DVD but for a DVD-0 bootleg. Of course it was cheesy, but I liked it anyway. Sho Kosugi has a sinister look about him in his movies that suggests you wouldn't want to piss him off, not to mention that gravelly voice of his. -kd5-

I didn't even realize Steve James had died...19 YEARS AGO! Too bad.
I went with Norris and Bronson. There's a good list of the Cannon/Golan-Globus movies on the Wikipedia page:
