Re: Terminator 5

Salvation was an absolute turd. A complete fucking mess of a movie that shit all over the Terminator mythology. I know a lot of people didn't like the third one but it was a masterpiece compared to Salvation.

Re: Terminator 5

Terminator Salvation would have been better if the entire thing was about Marcus Wright. I really like that character and I thought Sam Worthington was the best thing in the movie.

Re: Terminator 5

T4 was a good action film. It wasn't a good Terminator film.

T3 can go fuck itself. Plotholes, horrible color tone to the film, bad script, some iffy fx (though interesting). yeah..it just was kind of lazy.

Re: Terminator 5

Terminator 4 may not have had as many plot holes, but the plot was stupid.

I like T3. But I never considered it a sequel. For some reason my mind puts it apart from the others.

But I do love that blonde. I thought she was sexy and badass.

It's quite entertaining, I never got bored watching it.

Re: Terminator 5

I think T4's no doubt a better film than T3, which was a guilty pleasure film, but looking back at it... a lazy, soulless cash grab of a film. Like the Rat, McG can shoot a good looking, competent film, but he couldn't edit or provide a strong enough narrative for anyone to care about it.

I don't know how in the world they think a T5 would work, but I'd be willing to give it another shot.

Re: Terminator 5

wish they'd do a T5 that was set in the future talking about T1 but dealt with the making of Arnold's terminator more than John Conner and then Arnold's Terminator goes and fights the Terminator from T2 and have it all take place where T3 occurred and Arnold has sex with the girl terminator and we can see a mechabirth.

T5 and T6 should be about John Connor and the humans winning the war against the machines. Then you'd have a trilogy of "present" Terminator movies and a trilogy of "future" Terminator movies.

Then, put the franchise to rest until they decide it's time for a remake.

I don't see how you can feel so strongly about T3 but then give T4 a pass. And it wasn't a good action film. It was stupid, and the action was like being pounded in the face with a hammer repeatedly.

I liked Salvation as well. Particularly the unrated cut on blu.

It was supposed to be, and Bale was supposed to play Marcus. John Connor was a minor role. But when Bale insisted on playing John Conner, they changed the movie and made it about him.

....I couldn't say why you'd think that. Why? A bit of tits? some very minor added bits of violence? Angles? More ironside?

I still want to see all that footage that was cut w/ Terry Crews.

Did you watch the porn version of Terminator? Pretty sure we only ever saw his ass in those movies.

The extended Ironside bit was good as was Bale's extended speech. However, those additions were so minor they didn't warrant an additional cut.

I still wonder why we've never seen a proper extended cut with the Crews footage reinstated.

The first film was infamous for there being a visible Terminator pecker. haven't seen the movie in years, however, and have no desire to confirm if we see his Judgment Cock.

Re: Terminator 5

T4 is as visually stunning as it is vapid and soulless. If I ever watch it again, I'd prefer to do so on mute. Everything about the writing is terrible. Terrible. But it does look purdy.

Re: Terminator 5

I thought T4 was a nice change of pace. Sure, it's flawed, and marginal at best, but FFS, they did the "goes back in time to kill John Connor" thing for three straight movies...

This is what they should do for the next one:

No, they show his Schwartz.

I'm not sure if I should be proud that I know that.

Mainly because of some minor pacing issues. It was the first time I've seen a movie theatrically where I thought, "What the hell was cut from there?". And some of the violence trims were distracting as well, specifically when the rebel gets gunned down trying to escape the Skynet facility.

Having all that restored on blu made the movie feel more complete.

Edit: And yes, more Ironside makes anything better!

Re: Terminator 5

I don't know why some of you insist that in the first film we get an actual glimpse of Arnold's der schwanz(wishful thinking maybe?) but I assure you we don't. Check out Pumping Iron and keep the controller at hand ready to hit pause if that's what you're into.

They just don't want to admit the violence (particularly in T2) is pretty tame by today's R-standards. Last year's HANNA was far more violent, and it got a PG-13.
