Re: Ron Perlman reprises Hellboy for an awesome cause

I'll be a tad less harsh, the movies are mediocre at best so I don't get all the love but Pearlman is awesome for doing this.

Also props to the make-up artist taking time out of his schedule as well. Unsung hero.

Awesome of Perlman to do this for the kid. I thought the Hellboy movies were a lot of fun.

Re: Ron Perlman reprises Hellboy for an awesome cause

Like I said, Perlman is cool. However, a kid that age who's favorite hero is Hellboy seems even cooler to me .

In terms of a part III, I think II was greenlit after Del Toro got some notoriety from Pan's Labyrinth. I think that if Pacific Rim does well enough, some studio might let him do one more to wrap up the story.

And a nice hero pose too -- sounds like he's battling leukemia so hopefully he gets better.

As gracious as they are most actors would have just spent time with the kid -- Ron Perlman really went above and beyond.

Re: Ron Perlman reprises Hellboy for an awesome cause

Yeah. What Perlman did is a lot more than what Depp did. He had to put in that makeup...which is always a bitch, to do the deed. It's awesome. It's a lot to ask of a guy to do. But obviously the kid was worth it. Go Perlman.

I guess it would be in bad taste to give the kid his own Samaritan? Very cool thing to have happened.

Re: Ron Perlman reprises Hellboy for an awesome cause

Oh sure, a kid with leukemia asks and Ron Hellboys up, but I make a simple request for Hellboy to punch out my boss and I'm "a dickhead."

Totally awesome request on the kid's part, even greater response on Ron's. Awesome stuff.

Not to nitpick, but they could've done a little better on the kid's make-up.

Re: Ron Perlman reprises Hellboy for an awesome cause

I agree with that, but then I'm thinking: They would have to do a lot of development to make him look "realistic." With Ron Perlman, they're already familiar with the whole process. So it's more of a "Halloween" costume for the kid as opposed to the movie costume.

So long you wonder why he wouldn't sleep in it during shooting. I bet it takes 3-5 hours to get Hellboy ready everyday. Then they peel it off and do it again the next day.

To many people in Hollywood if it doesn't make dollars then it doesn't make sense. He did an awesome thing here.
