David Arnold's score aren't horrible but they aren't great either. They do the job but he is the worst when it comes to memorable cues. Arnold's stuff is mostly bland, background music and doesn't have the standalone meatiness of Barry's scores.
I can sit down and listen to all of Barry's scores and hum along to almost every track he ever did for his Bond films. Arnold's stuff just isn't distinctive at all. He had a nice love theme for Casino Royale but other than that, all of his scores have been quite forgettable which disappoints me.
I just wish they would hand the hat to someone else and give them a chance. Arnold has definitely shown that he is NOT John Barry's successor not matter how much the powers that be seem to want him to be.

Thomas Newman. He did the music for American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Jarhead, and Revolutionary Road. So he's had a stable relationship w/ Mendes. He's also done the compositions for The Green Mile, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, The Shawshank Redemption, and other stuff I haven't seen.

Who has the home video rights for Skyfall? Is it FOX or Sony?

Saw this last night in London. London Underground managed to get a private screening as one of the major scenes was filmed on our trains and stations. I worked on it for 2 days and my brother (who also works for them) done a days work as an extra. There is a scene in London where Bond runs out of the station and my brother is running into the station.
Anways. No spoilers here (people can do that on the review thread), just my first impression of the film.
Is the best bond yet? No, I personally enjoyed CR more but this is second to that and probably in my top 5 Bond films.
The film looks beautiful. A few scenes really amazing. The Scottish Highlands are used to great effect. Very epic. The Shanghi stuff is very vibrant, Deakins/Mendes use shadows, reflections and huge LED displays to great effect in these scenes.
Bardem is an very unusual villiam. I suppose you could say would he be anything but, he is very different to what you have seen before in a Bond villian.
The action scenes are well handled but you do wonder how much of that is Mendes or the second unit director or Deakins himself but if alot of it was Mendes then well done.
Also, it looks like they have listened to the complaints about product placement. I only so a Sony phone in a close-up that was really for placement. All the Heinkeen stuff wasnt obvious either.
Yes, there are a few surprises in there but I think you will enjoy it alot.

From what I have read, this Bond might be able to work well as both a series entry and a standalone movie. I know they are all technically standalones, but this one seems to be raising the bar a bit in certain areas.

Question: I want to see this in IMAX but won't be able to make it the first weekend. I am looking at the second weekend but worry that the new Twilight movie will replace it. Is this a valid concern and I should try to see it in IMAX when it opens, or can my worries be laid to rest?

Since I didn't own any of the Daniel Craig Bonds', I ordered the 3 BD set when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago for less than $20. It was temporarily out of stock for a while but finally got the shipping notice and it will be here by the end of the week.

They also just got some 2013 movies like Europa Report and Only God Forgives (even though that was also VOD, the turnaround to Netflix was fast) which both only came out this Summer.
