For me, I liked the first half of Die Another Day. The opening title sequence was pretty cool showing the torture Bond endured in captivity but then with the second half and that stupid ice castle is where it all fell apart.

Anyway about Bond 23...I have a feeling that this one may be pretty good becasue they had the real story heavy Bond (CR) and the real action oriented Bond (QOS). I think this one will be more balanced as far as story and kick-ass-ity goes.

Me, too.
Actually, Timothy Dalton is my favorite Bond. There's something about him that just seems like Ian Fleming's Bond come to life - like the real thing rather than a movie adaptation. He's god a hard, dark edge, but he's got class.
Personally, I think Goldeneye would have been a heck of a lot better with Dalton than with Brosnan, but Goldeneye still turned out pretty darned well.
As for the new movie I'd like to see something similar to Casino Royale in style, but with just a few of the classic Bond elements in there as well. (Some realistic, if 10 years ahead of their time, gadgets - not too many, but a couple, a little more humor, and a less dour Bond. Not the Roger Moore Bond, but with the kind of sense of humor we saw from Dalton in The Living Daylights. A serious Bond with a wry, dark sense of humor. Not unlike what we saw from Connery's Bond in Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Thunderball.)

Looking forward to a next Bond, and I'm someone that enjoyed Quantum. I'm watching Casino Royale right now, and honestly I think it drags a bit at the end as soon as the torture scene ends and all the Bond/Vespa stuff happens (coincidently, right at the 2 hour mark). Pieced together with where Quantum starts though, i think the 2 movies fit together nicely.

Michael Sheen might be Bond baddie Blofeld
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/...n-bond-blofeld
The Damned United actor is reported to be in negotiations to play the criminal mastermind in the 23rd official 007 picture, being co-scripted by Peter Morgan
He was last seen being tipped out of a helicopter into the gaping mouth of an industrial chimney. Now, 28 years after his last official appearance in For Your Eyes Only, James Bond's deadliest foe could be set for a return – in the fresh-faced form of actor Michael Sheen.
Sheen, 40, is reported to be in negotiations to play Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the 23rd official Bond picture, set for release in 2011. The script is being co-written by Peter Morgan, Sheen's long-time collaborator, who has already worked with him on the likes of The Queen, Frost/Nixon and The Damned United.
"Michael is hot property right now and it is felt that he's the right man to bring Blofeld back to life," an unnamed source told the Daily Express newspaper. "Michael was a Bond fan in his youth, so this would be a dream role for him."
The sinister chieftain of the global criminal organisation Spectre, Blofeld has appeared in six James Bond outings and has been interpreted by a variety of actors, including Donald Pleasence, Telly Savalas and Charles Gray. In popular imagination, he sports a scarred face and a shaved head and is never seen without his beloved white Persian cat.
Over recent decades, however, Blofeld has proved a more fitful and elusive presence. He was briefly resurrected by the Swedish actor Max von Sydow in 1983's unofficial Bond adventure Never Say Never Again and provided the inspiration for Dr Evil, the cackling, accident-prone baddie from the Austin Powers comedies. The real Blofeld, one suspects, would not have been amused.

Hmm, Michael Sheen may be a bit young but I'd like to see what he could bring to the table as Blofeld.

personally I always thought Jeremy Northam seemed like an excellent candidate for Bond.

I caught a headline about this and had to do a double-take because I thought it said "Charlie Sheen to play villain in next Bond film".

Since they've rebooted the series, why don't they go back to original novels -- especially ones like Moonraker where EON threw out everything but the title. Failing that, how about adapting the Amis and Gardner books.

Craig: Bond shoot to start next year
MGM has no comment on actor's disclosure
By DAVE MCNARY
The 23rd James Bond film will start shooting late next year, according to Daniel Craig.
The thesp made the disclosure Friday in New York in response to a fan's question as he exited the stage door for "A Steady Rain," a Broadway play in which he's starring with Hugh Jackman.
MGM had no comment about Craig's comment. He's starred in "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace," which took in nearly $1.2 billion in worldwide box office.
The most recent announcement on the Bondpic came in June when Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Prods. and MGM disclosed that Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were writing the script for the film, which does not have a director attached yet. Purvis and Wade most recently worked on "Quantum of Solace" and "Casino Royale."

Awesome news! I love Craig as 007. CR was a phenomenal reboot to the series. QoS was a little too action-heavy, and lost its footing on a couple occasions, but I still thought it was very good. The opening car chase is fucking awesome. I hope they can learn from some of the mistakes made on the last picture and make this one even better.

I'd like a combo of CR and QoS. Great storytelling and action -minus too much length of film. CR was maybe a bit too long. I still love it but...some scenes could've been shortened.

Bond 23 is on hold until someone buys MGM.
Well, at least according to one of the writers. I'm shaking in horror at the thought of Lionsgate possibly getting the MGM catalog.

Pre-production work on Bond 23 has now been put on hold until February as the heavily in debt MGM, through which EON Productions release the 007 pictures, is up for sale.
A new owner will likely green light Bond 23 immediately to recoup some of its investment with a sure-fire box office smash. Time Warner Inc and Lions Gate Entertainment are two of the heavy hitters said to be eyeing a bid for the famed studio and its back-catalogue of 4,000 films.
Daniel Craig has stated a number of times that principal photography is expected to start at the end of 2010, with Judi Dench also confirming her involvement is planned for early 2011.
This timetable is similar to the past few Bond movies, so fans should expect a November 2011 release date. Perhaps 11/11/11?

I hope the whole MGM shift doesn't affect the quality of the film. I can wait as long as the end result is a kickass Bond flick.

Then again, that deal would put present an opportunity for a pairing between two of film's greatest powerhouses: Tyler Perry presents: Bond 23 M, meet Madea! Guaranteed $400 million opening weekend.

My money is still on Time Warner taking control so they can own the whole MGM library.
Would Warner own the whole franchise at that point?

I don't understand why should it matter what studio. Isn't the Cubby family the owners of the series?
Don't they just make the movie and the studio distributes it?
