Jack McCall is a fast-talking literary agent who can close any deal, any time, any way. He has set his sights on New Age guru Dr. Sinja for his own selfish purposes. But Dr. Sinja is on to him, and Jack's life comes unglued after a magical Bodhi tree mysteriously appears in his backyard. With every word Jack speaks, a leaf falls from the tree and he realizes that when the last leaf falls, both he and the tree are toast. Words have never failed Jack McCall, but now he's got to stop talking and conjure up some outrageous ways to communicate or he's a goner.

I love how Paramount pushed the film back two more months to cash in on Eddie hosting the Oscars and now he bailed.

Might as well release it in a handful of theaters in January to fulfill the contract with Murphy and send that bitch right to video. Cut your losses as soon as possible.

The widely panned comedy earned an incredible score from critics aggregated on the site: Zero.

Eddie Murphy's attempted comeback movie A Thousand Words, made in 2008 and opening March 9, is the first wide-release movie of 2012 to earn a score of zero from the critics aggregated on the site Rotten Tomatoes . The Hollywood Reporter reviewer Frank Scheck calls the film "a tired, formulaic comedy."

The zero score is an historic critical attack that puts Murphy in a special category.

"Since we put a score up for a film with as little as five reviews, there are a lot of very small films that have releases, but for wide releases, there are probably only 3 or 4 dozen [zeroes] going back to the start of the site in 1999," Rottentomatoes editor-in-chief Matt Atchity tells THR. "On the list of the zeroes, it will probably come in at fifth or sixth worst in history, but since reviews are still coming in, it may rank higher (or lower depending on your POV) on that list." Atchity estimates that there are at least 10,000 better-reviewed films on the site.

"Bucky Larson was the worst of the bunch last year, with a zero, and that joins the ranks of other 0% wide releases like Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, One Missed Call, Benigni's Pinocchio, and Killing Me Softly," says Atchity. Rottentomatoes published a Worst of the Worst list in 2009.

Worst reviewed? Damn, I thought it would at least be middle of the line for Eddie's recent career. Maybe around Daddy Day Care level. Wacky premise, but with no apparent bad special effects, should have been a moderately tolerable movie, not downright awful. Script must've sucked ass. They should've hired Michel Hazanavicius to doctor it up.

And I'm sad that in 2012 my level of expectation for an Eddie Murphy movie is that it is at least as acceptable as Daddy Day Care.

I read recently that Murphy decided he didn't want to do Beverly Hills Cop 4 and instead is looking to make a TV show based off of Axel Foley's son, with Eddie making cameo appearances from time-to-time.

Apparently wanting to right the wrongs of Beverly Hills Cop 3 doesn't bother him as much anymore. Man I miss old Eddie.

As much heat as this is getting (still holding strong at 0% at RottenTomatoes), I'm kind of tempted to see it. Been following since it filmed however many years ago and didn't think it looked all that bad - certainly much better than stuff like Norbit or Meet Dave that Eddie Murphy has done. Maybe it's just my particular taste in certain types of plots.
