The Maltese Falcon because the viewer's imagination is transported in time back to whenever they made that movie.

Really?!! Wasn't the question about lesser known time travel movies? Isn't that the story and movie that inspired every time travel movie ever made?

To some, they are lesser known titles. Just like the other 75% that's listed here are also popular, but some people didn't know that it's a time travel flick.

In a certain way, you could add CLICK starring Adam Sandler.

I know it was already mentioned in this thread but my favorite lesser-known time-travel films are Timerider and Time After time.

Timerider has a great original soundtrack composed by Michael Nesmith of The Monkees.
