Just checked, nope Fortunately there are a couple of theaters here that screen indie/small budget films like this. I'm hoping one of them eventually screens this in the coming weeks (not concerned about the NC-17 being a problem since these theaters screened Shame)

Don't think it's even playing in L.A. this weekend. I'll have to wait until 8/3 to see it.

It starts at a theatre on pico tomorrow...(LA) Want to see it, but don't know if I want to make the drive.

Yeah, it will be playing at The Landmark theater on West Pico Blvd. The next theater after that is the Edwards University Town Center 6 in Irvine.

I don't live too far from The Landmark, but I don't think it's worth the gas money for this one, and definitely not to Irvine. I'll be waiting for this to be available on Netflix for rental.

It's a bummer that it isn't playing at any of the smaller artsy theaters that are closer to me, like Shame did when that came out.

Really want to see this one. But this weekend we finally get Beasts of the Southern Wild so I'll be seeing that and hopefully this next weekend.

I would've written a longer review but the less I write, the better off you'll be. Just go see it.

Hopefully the beaver shots of Gina Gershon and Juno Temple will be hitting the 'net soon.

Now, that was a movie. This movie is dripping with dark comedy. McConaughey is sleazy as fuck. Loved the whole of the last scene and just the whole dynamic of this white trash family. I'll leave it at that. Go see it.

It's definitely my favorite ending of any film I've seen this year.

It starts Friday at the Laemmle Playhouse in Pasadena.

Yeah, thinking back at this past year, I can't think of a movie with a better ending. I hadn't heard much about this movie before seeing it and expected a more noirish feeling which it certainly had but the humor took me by surprise.

This packed quite a wallop. MM was tremendous. I'm still playing it over again and again in my head.
Some of Friedkin's shot compositions were downright nasty and his direction of this material was masterful.

This still isn't in Central Florida. Think it's about time to move, well that and all the murders that happen in this state.

For those who have seen the film, check out this interview with Gina Gershon.
Very refreshing to hear an actor just spill it like this. Do not click on this link if you plan on seeing the film. The less you know about this bad boy the better.

I'm sort of upset she's 50, I could see her fitting in so many "bad ass chick" roles these days (and she still can, she is still crazy hot).

Film Comment Q&A with Friedkin, Lett, McConaughey and Gershon.

Killer Joe was filmed in 22 days with one or two takes per scene. Most film makers couldn't make something this good in a lifetime. Genius.
