One For The Money (01/27/12) Heigl as a female Bounty Hunter
now...I liked Heigl in Knocked Up, and in general I think she's cute and likable but not someone I could ever take serious in a more dramatic role should she be given one anytime soon. I've no interest in this movie at all. looks like shit. It's like a more mainstream I will say this...she's actually pretty good looking in this. Not Bellucci good looking, of course. |

You've got no interest and the movie "looks like shit" yet you made a thread about it? It's not like we post about every movie that gets released here, you know.

Re: One For The Money (01/27/12) Heigl as a female Bounty Hunter
Without watching the trailer, given it star Heigl, I'm gonna assume it's a rom-com. Is this late competion for The Bounty Hunter?
EDIT: I just watched the trailer. Once again I must ask, is this late competion for The Bounty Hunter?

You had me at "Heigl". And by 'had me', I mean never seeing it...ever.

My thoughts exactly. Take a break from posting about every little thing you come across on the two dozen movie websites you have bookmarked. Step outside once and awhile Snake, it'll be good for you.

Release date says it all. The Stephanie Plum character is rather famous among readers, but I doubt this becomes a lucrative movie franchise like I'm sure Heigl hopes. I think this might have been shot a while back and sat on a shelf for a while. Her seemingly on-again, off-again northern drawl is laughable.

Re: One For The Money (01/27/12) Heigl as a female Bounty Hunter
These are my favorite books to read on airplane rides, and I love the character of Stephanie Plum. I have been looking forward to this becoming a movie franchise for the longest, now I am afraid they are going to mess it up all to hell and I will have to wait another 3 years for them to *reboot* the franchise after this.
I will give it a shot though. I really do enjoy the books. |

Re: One For The Money (01/27/12) Heigl as a female Bounty Hunter
Used a free coupon on Redbox to check this out last night. I didn't think it was too bad. It was what it was, which is a murder mystery with an attractive female lead, adapted from a novel, not meant to be taken too seriously, and certainly not made with the intent of winning any Oscars. I think Heigl did a good job in the role, and I liked the story. It was just light entertainment, and I wouldn't have been disappointed if I had actually spent money on it instead of the free coupon.

I'm surprised she can get a film made considering what a diva she reportedly is.

Stupid story and stupid stereotypical Jersey characters. She had zero chemistry with Jason O'Mara (the guy who was the lead in Terra Nova) I actually like Katherine Heigl too. I was one of the few who watched and bought the BD for New Years Eve and IMO that was wonderful compared to this piece of shit. On the bright side, she was nice to look at here. |

Re: One For The Money (01/27/12) Heigl as a female Bounty Hunter
The movie was pretty average. If I wasn't a fan of the books, I would likely have given it a C. However, I do enjoy the books so the movie just served to piss me off.
I have been waiting for a long time for these books to be made into a movie series. I never guessed they would do it in such a blah way that the hopes of a sequel would be dashed right from the start. I don't hate Heigl either, but she always just seemed like her usual character in this movie. She never because Stepahie Plum. What a disappointment. |

The women at my work seemed to love it. The women at my work thank you. You're definitely a hero to them.
