Charles Bronson: Mustache or No Mustache?
I've been a Bronson movie binge lately...I grew up knowing him only w/ the mustache but as an adult I've seen a good variety of his films w/o the mustache. And I've come to this: He looks better w/o the mustache..and I also like the movies he's in w/o one more coincidentally.
or
(this is really damn good pic of him...)

I like them both, but I prefer to believe Chuck derives extra power from the 'stache.
Btw, Snake, what'cha been watching? Bronson is my motherfucker; I know almost all of his work.

Ooh c'mon, Jules, another thr - oh. It's you, Esteban.
Well I guess I'll play. I think he looks better sans moustache but that's cos I'm used to you Bronson clean shaven and old Bronson with a 'stache. Though your pics show he could look badass either way. So... Both?

I watched Bronson recently in one of his mustache roles, The Mechanic. Not a bad movie. There have been a lot of Bronson showing up on the movie channels lately.
And to answer the OP's question. It's a tough call, especially because as a kid I identified him with the stache. I think I should watch some more Bronson movies before I can make the call.

This was the 1st movie I ever saw him w/o the 'stache. Fucking floored me when I saw him w/ no 'stache.

This is one of my favorite pics of his all time from Red Sun. I even have this in a Ceramic print on my wall. BTW it is great to see a newer generation enjoying his work. My hat is off to you Snake...

I voted No Mustache, but to be honest I am not sure if have seen him a mustachioed role. But he is without mustache in 3 of my favorite movies, Great Escape, Once upon a Time in the West, and Magnificent Seven.

His character in Once Upon A Time In The West was mythical, as was every character in that thing. Henry Fonda as a psychotic killer? Jason f*cking Robards in anything called a western? It's a staggering and astonishing film by nearly any standard. I get goosebumps talkng about it.
And to the topic, no 'stache.

Re: Charles Bronson: Mustache or No Mustache?
There were basically two Bronsons: pre-moustache character actor and moustached star.
Pre-moustache: VERA CRUZ, APACHE, RUN OF THE ARROW, MACHINE GUN KELLY, NEVER SO FEW, MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE GREAT ESCAPE, BATTLE OF THE BULGE, THE DIRTY DOZEN, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST
Moustache: VIOLENT CITY (aka THE FAMILY), RIDER ON THE RAIN, RED SUN, DEATH WISH, THE MECHANIC, THE STONE KILLER, TELEFON, THE EVIL THAT MEN DO, assorted DEATH WISH sequels, etc., etc., etc.
The quality of the films gradually went down after he became a star, not that I didn't keep going to see them, although I dropped off when Cannon kind of took over his career in the 1980s. I think THE EVIL THAT MEN DO was the last Bronson film I saw in a theater. The first was THE GREAT ESCAPE.

on topic w/ The Mechanic. I finally saw that yesterday morning. I liked it..but...I HATED the guy that Bronson had to teach his stuff too. Not sure which I liked more....the original or the remake. The remake is more balanced out...but the original has that awesome no dialogue sequence and Bronson. Also...that bit w/ the prostitute was weird. Like...I don't mind that that's part of the story...but...maybe if Bronson was a better actor for that scene..it wouldn't come off so awkward today.

Re: Charles Bronson: Mustache or No Mustache?
I was lukewarm on The Mechanic the first time I watched it. After a second viewing, I loved it. Now I'd consider it one of my favorite Bronson films. It's a slow-burn, methodical picture, but Bronson is so cold and calculating that I can forgive Jan for acting like a preening douche for the running time.
Also, Bronson's house in that move is fucking amazing. I want it.

You're this close to being slapped, fool.
I say no stache. His manliest movies are without the stache. Dirty Dozen, Great Escape... This thread really should've been about if Charles Bronson shaves down there. Disappointed.
