Blackthorn (Sam Shepard as Butch Cassidy)
Looks good, haven't seen many films w/ Shepard but always glad to see him.

Butch Cassidy was born in 1866. Sam Shepard is 67. So the events of this film would have to take place in 1933 to be at all plausible (and would have to assume that he wasn't killed in South America in 1908). And the trailer doesn't seem to indicate that.

Seems to acknowledge that Cassidy was supposedly dead but that he isn't...right there in the trailer.

Well, everyone knows Cassidy died in 1908 in Bolvia. What this movie presupposes is...maybe he didn't?

Please read carefully. I acknowledged in my post that the movie assumed he hadn't been killed in South America. What the trailer gets wrong is that Butch's advanced age would set the movie in the 1930s and the period setting as shown in the trailer seems to be a good 40 years earlier.
