Re: Stake Land
I really liked Mulberry Street so I've been watching this one for a while. It's supposed to get a limited release on April 22nd. There is a newer trailer out (Bloody Disgusting has it, I'm on the phone so I can't link it). Looks pretty cool. I will check this out if it comes out near me.

I'm very curious about this. The newer "Belle" trailer looks good and creepy...

Danielle Harris I'm there!
Well, not so much "there" as "here" cause I'll most likely just rent it when it's available.

Re: Stake Land
I just saw this and it completely blew me away. The title made me think it would be a lame "Zombie Land" ripoff but this was way better than Zombie Land. Its closer to "The Road" in tone. A bleak, realistic tale of a group of people trying to survive in a nightmare world. Doesn't fall into the typical horror movie cliche's that you would expect it to. Its a shame this didn't get promoted more and get better distribution. Becasue I had never heard of it.

Just watched this. Went in with low expectations after watching Chris Gore trash it on AOTS yesterday. But I really enjoyed it. One of the best Horror films I've seen this year.
I love me some Danielle Harris. Hard to believe that chick is in her mid-30's.

Re: Stake Land
Add another vote to the really liked it column. I getting tired of all these vampire movies/shows, but this had a different take on the whole vampire story. It played out more like a Romero undead flick than a standard vampire flick.

Re: Stake Land
I've kind of have wanted to see this. The BD has some damn good features too from what I can see. 2 commentaries, an hour long making of, and 49mins of production diaries.

Re: Stake Land
Watched it this past Friday....what a let down - this flick had so much potential too with how it was setup. Cheesy dialouge and Bad acting at times (but to be fair, the level of acting in the film was surprisingly good for the most part).
I would still recommend a one time watch though just for the plot devices used in general. This flick actually has a level of originality to it but was just executed poorly.

Re: Stake Land
I had noticed the good reviews a ways back and been meaning to see this for a while.
It was a disappointment.
I was surprised how well this B movie pulled off characterization, atmosphere, and the sense of apocalypse on such a low budget. If the director and writers hadn't tried so hard and went so far to make this a bash you over the head polemics rant about religion, it could have been a solid B movie.
