Since they couldn't be stupid enough to do the city thing again, maybe they mean the desert? Or perhaps it'll all take place inside a facility? But wouldn't that be to similar to the Carnosaur (or whatever the heck they were called) movies?

Green is good - city not so good. The 3rd one was straight action, and I just kind of assumed they'd do that for the 4th one. In any event, I'm glad to hear that something is in motion for this - I love the first one and enjoyed both sequels to some degree.

Part of me wishes they'd go back that plotline they left dangling from JP2. When that ship hits land, all the crew had been killed. I thought it was obvious that there was something on that ship besides the t-rex, since he was imprisoned and couldn't have possibly killed the crew. Raptors, maybe? Yet none of the characters wondered about that, and nothing was mentioned in JP3. When it was announced, I was fully expecting a "Raptors in New York (or whatever the city was)" story.

Wait... I just realized I basically described Godzilla. Nevermind, bad idea.

lol

Nothing says classy like a Raptor with a spacesuit on. A little airtank strapped to thier back and a fishbowl space helmet.

I cas see a Grant vs. Raptors fight now:

Grant slowly backing away as the raptors pin him against the side of a crater. The raptors lunge at Grant and fly *OVER* him and into the moon crater!

Spielberg is not directing. If you want to know the latest rumor for JP4, here it is...

.
.
.

The cloning process for dinosaurs cloned a disease that's back in full force and wiping out humans. Not sure if this is even real, since I read it on the internet, but I don't know where the dinosaurs would fit in.

The ultimate crossover. The dinos are spreading, and humans realize that the only way to survive is to bring Predators to Earth to hunt the beasts. When the Predator ship arrives, though, surprisingly and with no explanation whatsoever, there is an Alien egg inside. It hatches and hugs a Raptor, thus creating a new breed of killing machine. The last of the human race (Dr. Grant, Keira Knightley, and a token minority child) escape to the remote Camp Crystal Lake, only to discover that Freddy and Jason are battling it out there. The Alien Raptor, tracked by the Predators, discovers their location and in the climactic battle it is a free for all. Amidst the carnage an escape pod crashes to the Earth. Ripley emerges, sees Keira, has a Newt flashback, and realizes there is no ship nearby she can cause to self destruct and narrowly escape. Thus she resorts to kindness and love to bring each creature under control. After all, if humans can learn to get along, can't mutated Alien dinosaurs as well? She and Grant fall in love, adopt Keira and the token minority kid, and live happily ever after as exotic ranchers.

I remember hearing the apocalypse storyline when III was deep in pre-production. They had missed some dinos on the boat in San Diego that had gotten loose and bred like rabbits. The movie took place 20 or 30 years from 'now', Humanity was more or less on the ropes and the Dinos were in control.

Kind of Reign of Fire-ish, now that I think about it. It seems a cool enough concept - hell, I'd pay 8 bucks to see it!

Maybe they'll have a crazy thing happen that any dino leaving the island becomes cursed and cannot die and takes fossil form in the moonlight...

Seriously, I like the JP movies, but part III ended on such an anti-climactic note that I really didn't leave the theater wanting more.

Check out the premise John Sayles has conjured up for 'Jurassic Park 4'

Here's a detailed review of the script from Harry Knowles' site:

I don't know whether to laugh or hope this gets the greenlight.

I read that too on AICN yesterday. Hehe. I think it's nice they're going back to the roots of the first movie, but I dunno about the rest.

I hope they run with it.

Although the premise is wacked, it sounds like it could keep people on the edge of their seats. A place this franchise hasn't been since the first movie.

Sayles is credited with the rewrite, I dont think this goofy idea was his totally, at least I hope so.
