A nice Spielberg interview. (June 6, 2011)

Thanks for posting this bluetoast; I read it earlier today and if he's serious about Lucas being the driving force behind Temple of Doom, which I'm inclined to believe as Hyuck and Katz were his friends, I definitely view him in a better light.
Wonder if that scene he'd want to see in a Jaws sequel would work in a USS Indianapolis prequel.

I see this attitude all the time and it bugs me (probably more than it should) because mixed in with all the goofy stuff and terrible site layout, are really great articles like this fantastic interview.
You missed a bit, there's also going to be a side-quel to Jaws that shows the affair sub-plot from the novel going on in the background.

That was excelent. His Temple of Doom comment is hard to fully grasp. He seems to be complimenting Lucas, but you could also read it as distancing himself from the film and Lucas. He seems to be saying, "If you are a lover of the film then you should give George his due?" but is also saying, "Look, that film was all George. I won't take credit for anything you like, because I don't want to take heat for anything others hate."

I read that Lucas admits the "darker" result of Doom was a direct result of a divorce he was going through at the time.

That interview was painful to read due to AICN formatting, but here's my favorite quote from Spielberg from it:
"(In the future) there’s going to be no more digital enhancements or digital additions to anything based on any film I direct. I’m not going to do any corrections digitally to even wires that show...At this point right now I think letting movies exist in the era, with all the flaws and with all of the flourishes, is a wonderful way to mark time and mark history."

Well, he can pony up the money and fix the format if he wants my measly click. Clicks are money and he's not getting any from me.

Good read. Some cool stuff.
Definitely like that he won't be altering his movies anymore and I'm THRILLED that a Jaws Blu-Ray is coming out. Then I just need Jurassic Park. Those are the only two movies left in my collection that I'll double dip on.
