100% in agreement with you there. It was just as good, if not better, the second time. My gf was tensed up almost the entire time, unsure of what would happen next.
And that soundtrack is equal perfection - both the selected tracks and Cliff Martinez's work.

While not exactly on topic, I thought the intro scene of this movie was the closest thing to replicating the atmosphere of a Grand Theft Auto game in live action. Not that I am saying Refn should make one, but that was a dead on representation IMO.

I really wanted to like this movie, but by the middle, I just was wondering when it was going to end. Gosling is an amazing actor, and I'm a fan, but this movie is plodding, middling, and kind of boring. Many parts make no sense at all.

Really liked this film. Nicely directed by Refn, well-acted, great score, perfectly atmospheric tone, the screenplay was lean and mean though a tad bit by-the-numbers (pretty thin on character and the specific revenge motif has been done to death). Gosling was very good, but he's been better (Half-Nelson).
