Whereas I think the film did explore a very big and tough idea without spelling everything out

Part of what makes TD so enigmatic and mysterious isn't just that it doesn't spell everything out, it's that a lot of the questions it raises are contradictory and don't have easy answers. Though the world is so much different now, it's kind of scary to think what a 21st century Travis Bickle would be like.

Yeah it never explains why Brandon (Fassbender) is the way he is but instead shows us how destructive his behavior is to himself and sometimes to those around him.
A powerful film about a dysfunctional man who can't connect with anyone on a deep level.

Doesn't the film imply several possible realms for it allow you to draw your own conclusion?

What, did I fall asleep during the part where Fassbender was banging nymphs in Narnia?

Watched this again a couple days ago and it is still as powerful as when I first saw it seven years ago.

5/5

Does anybody here keep in touch with Snake? I've been curious to find out if he's given up BDs for 4Ks these days.

This is one of my favorite movies and I watch it a fee times a year. Really well made and strong stuff and very strong performances all round. Fassbender should have won the Oscar for his performance in this.

He posts on the Facebook page from time to time. He hasn't mentioned 4K but was asking about shelves for BDs.
