James MacArthur dead at age 72

Just read the newspaper this morning and found he has died from natural causes according to his agent. While he be remember for playing Danny in tv Hawaii 5-0 he also did films such as my personal favorite Swiss Family Robinson.

This is what I'll always remember him most for.

Don't forget Clay-boy on Spencer's Mountain. That was my favorite role of his.

Re: James MacArthur dead at age 72

He was a good actor and quite impressive in a number of films and had an interesting career ahead of him, but threw it all away to do "Hawaii 5-0" for X no. of years and never recovered that youthful promise. He missed out on a lot of good film roles he could have had in the late '60s and '70s. I was more a moviegoer in those years, so I never really watched "Hawaii 5-0" until it was in reruns much later. Even then, I preferred more urban cop shows like "Police Story," "Starsky and Hutch," "Baretta" and "Kojak."
