Crappy hold for Machete, but it'll still make money. Glad to see Expendables should cross $100m this week. Impressive (close to final) tally for Inception. Too bad it can't squeak $300m, but I won't shed a tear for Nolan.

That is a pretty huge opening for RE considering most have said it looks like garbage & Milla is hardly an A-list box office draw. I haven't seen the film but I'm glad it did so well since I dig all the RE films & love Milla.
Also glad to see Expendables will hit the $100 million mark. Hoping for a sequel without Sly directing.

I heard nothing about the new RE until I saw a few billboards some weeks ago.
The last one had a trailer I probably saw thirty times in theaters and TV.

Inception looks like it's probably going to reach $290 mil in the US. The Other Guys is quietly approaching $120 mil. One of the many Sony hits in this lackluster Summer.

Resident Evil managed to put together a pretty decent following despite being fairly mediocre movies. I've watched each of them and find them mildly entertaining, but i'm still somewhat surprised. It's nice that they managed to get to 4 movies with continuity.

I know. They're all good. But there's something missing. All they really have going for them is the coolness of a 'corporate zombie war' concept. Everything else kind of falls flat. But the concept has a lot going for it.

Sony is probably just as surprised as everyone else is on Takers' success. That's going to end up with at least $60 mil. They dumped it in August, but it's going to end up being pretty successful. I thought it had completed production some time ago.

If you look at IMDB ratings, men hate the film, women are mixed-positive on it. I guess Takers is just eye candy.

Paul Walker, T.I., and Chris Brown appeal to a lot of women. I thought the movie was the worst film I've seen all year, but I'm a male between 18-25. God forbid an action movie is geared towards my age range.
