Yes because the folk at IMDB are the epitome of good taste and judgement, rivaled only by the classy folk that frequent Aint It Cool News.

Re: The A-Team (Carnahan, 2010) — The Reviews Thread

Just wanted to say I thought this was great. We only got it today in the UK.
I was never a big fan of the show (more into Airwolf) but I know the basics. I thought they all worked well together. The ending was abit CGI overload but I still enjoyed the hell out of it!
Fave scenes:
The "3-D" scene. Very funny and did anyone else notice the film they were watching starred "Reginald Barcley"? Nice touch.
The tank scene. Like Carnahan said, if you don't like that scene from the trailer you ain't gonna like the film. He is right.

I give it a 4/5 due to the OTT editing.
I believe you have to have one of these action films once a year where you watch and have a smile on your face throughout.
Also loved the Lynch character. His line about COD was funny, another reviewer said he didn't like the line. Thats bullshit. I bet he laughed first!

I would really like to see a sequel from this. Didn't expect Jon Hamm at the end.

Yea. I didn't post when I saw this a couple months back. This movie was excellent. I like how they built the meticulously choreographed action into the script and justified it. Good stuff.

I think that they tried to do too much and show too much with the cargo ship. The effects weren't enough to make me believe that all of those 40' containers were being tossed around like that. But it was definately a good effort. And that little grievence wasn't enough to really bring down the movie.

My friend, who was young-adult age when the series came out, referred to this movie as "phoney bullshit, based on the A-Team show". If I was a fan of the show, maybe I wouldn't have been as easy on the modern update.

While watching the credits I did find it funny that Gentle Giant did the body scans.

Re: The A-Team (Carnahan, 2010) — The Reviews Thread

late to the party, I finally decided to move this to the top of my netflix queue
it was a little too over the top in places (yeah I know, summer action flick based off a 80s tv show that often strained credibilty, of course it was over the top) but over all it was fun
the after credits cameos were decent, the crazy faces Dwight made were great.
the Reginald Barclay thing was an interesting in-joke that I'd have never expected

How come no follow-up? It made 177 on 100 budget. Not great, but this is one that seemed it could have done better...

How come we need a follow-up? I dunno, I liked it, but don't see a need for this to be a franchise. A TV show reboot would be more appropriate.

I dunno, this is so much fun and the actors look like they are having a ball. I just thought there would be some chatter...

$110 million, that's the budget.

Domestic: $77,222,099 43.6%
+ Foreign: $100,016,697 56.4%
= Worldwide: $177,238,796

That's shit take. That's why there is no sequel. Simple. "Not great" is not what this film made. It didn't even make a good return.

I enjoyed the movie a good bunch too. Neeson being in it sure added a lot to it.

I love this movie. I missed it in theaters but blind-bought the BD and the director's cut is great. You can totally tell the guys had a great time making the film - the chemistry is great.

Re: The A-Team (Carnahan, 2010) — The Reviews Thread

I had an blast watching this movie! It's a fun ride and the cast definitely seems like they were havin a good time together.

I was all for a sequel a year or two after this movie was originally released but at this point I couldn't care less. I just chalk it up as another missed opportunity for making a sequel in a timely manner (which Hollywood seems to be doing an awful lot lately).

It didn't do well here in the UK as they released it the same month the football World Cup.
There's nothing like a film aimed MEN released at the same time as MEN are watching a MENS game.

Yup; I caught this with my son on Father's Day weekend when it came out. One our favorite movies. Really wished it did better for a follow-up.
