Lindsay Lohan is set to play 70s porn star Linda Lovelace, star of Deep Throat. The film was being shopped around Cannes last week in hopes of securing financing, and I'm not clear whether or not that was successful, but promotional shots have been produced nonetheless;



Bill Pullman will also appear in the film, playing Hugh Hefner.

I'm actually pretty interested to see whether Lohan has this in her. Obviously, she is far removed from her short-lived Disney days, but is she capable of delivering a good performance? I certainly hope so, as I used to think that she was really talented. I just hope this doesn't feel too much like a trainwreck playing a real-life trainwreck.

Malin Akerman (Couples Retreat, Watchmen, 27 Dresses) is now confirmed to replace Lindsay Lohan in Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story. from director/writer Matthew Wilder's script which made the 2008 Black List. "My understanding is that Lindsay was dropped as she's impossible to insure and the producers loved Malin," an insider emails. Malin's upcoming credits include Wanderlust (Paul Rudd, Jen Aniston), Happythankyoumoreplease (Josh Radnor) and The Bang Bang Club (Taylor Kitsch, Ryan Philippe). She is also attached to star opposite Ethan Hawke in The Numbers Station. The Lovelace project (we really need another after Brian Grazer did one?) is based on the novel Ordeal: An Autobiography by Linda Lovelace with Mike McGrady. The producers include Chris Hanley of Muse Productions and Jordan Gertner

Not according to sources I know. They have been in "pre-production" forever on this and word is they don't have the money to make it anyway.

But one of us will be right "if" it gets made.

I don't know if this movie is a sure thing, but I think Akerman is a better pick in terms of acting. Lohan would have just been little more than stunt casting in the long run.

I think Lohan was a better match to play the role (ignoring the fact that the actress and pornstar has the same initials).

They may need to use Charlize Theron's makeup artists from "Monster" on Akerman since she looks too pretty to play Lovelace.

I've read the script (snagged a copy before the lawyers shut own the download site). My thought immediately after I read it: "that was crazy intense!" My thought the next morning: "Wait. How common were car phones in 1970-1971?"

The scene where which takes place before the pair's success in the adult film industry, is written like this. I'm quite sure that that was an anachronism.
