Hobo With A Shotgun

Re: Hobo With A Shotgun
Definitely enjoyed this more than Grindhouse or Machete but it needed some more work; many of the great lines were obscured and there were some opportunities to take others to the next level
Great score/soundtrack, such a great match to the material.

Re: Hobo With A Shotgun
Just watched this on HDnet, was excited to see it after the trailer, posters, and casting of Rutger Hauer, but for once I agree with Orndorf. The movie did nothing for me, and I loved Grindhouse and enjoyed Machete. I understand the Troma comparisons, and I wasn't around in the 70's, but I just wasn't entertained at all. The lines which are being quoted as winners just came off as stupid to me.
I'm glad so many on here really seemed to enjoy it, but I found it to be just plain bad and not fun at all. I much prefer the 2 minute contest winning trailer to the 80 minute feature.

I went out last night with a bunch of friends and forgot to record it. Stupid me.
I'm guessing is only a one shot deal for these Sneak Previews on HDNet?

Re: Hobo With A Shotgun
I watched it with the wife and we both enjoyed BUT it was still a disappointment like Machete was. I guess after Grindhouse was a solid ***** movie for me that I expected the spin-off's to be just as good. I give this the same rating as Machete **1/2. It felt a little to Troma-ish a not "real 70s grindhouse" like it should have been.
I also hated The Plague character(s) they were so out of place in the movie and

I enjoyed it, although it felt more like a Troma film than a "grindhouse" film. The girl was actually quite talented (and good-looking too). She could have a bright future ahead in film.

I agree with the Troma comparisons. This wasn't a great film. I got through it and found some of it interesting. Not as good as Grindhouse or Machete.

Finally caught this. Liked it, didn't love it. I felt the heavy influence from Street Trash and Mario Bava, but the plot was too ridiculous and the characters too over the top for me to fully accept it. I wanted something more along the lines of Death Wish 3, but it ended up playing like a top-shelf Troma flick.

I was shocked to learn she was only 20.

I saw it last night and liked it a lot. I was expecting the novelty to wear off after the first 15 minutes or so, but to my surprise, it actually kept getting better. It's like it was trying hard to be a bad movie but somehow ended up being a very good movie.

Finally watched this one today. I liked it quite a bit. It wasn't great, but it was an entertaining way to spend some time on a rainy Sunday.
