This looks absolutely ridiculous and I'd normally dismiss it without a second look but I've never had so much fun in a movie theater as I did when I saw the first movie on Fourth of July weekend when I was 16. I've got to give part 2 a watch just for nostaglia's sake.

It looks very much in line with the original, which for a sequel 20 years after the original, is exactly what it should be in this case.

The Will Smith son character I think will suck. He just doesn't fit right. Everything else seems like a growth of what we last saw. I can't say if ID was a great movie but I fucking loved it like crazy when it was on TV. So much fun and neat things going on. Loved the Aliens, Goldblum, Smith, etc.

How was the BD on that one?

There was a barebones release back in the day but there is a new one out next week that should be good. New 4K transfer, both cuts of the movie and most of the old extras.

I didn't see a thread for the new bluray that is out today. I found a copy at walmart this morning. Just a heads up, there is a fandango redemption code for a ticket to the sequel. It's on the back of the sticker that is on the plastic wrap so don't throw it out.

There were about 10 copies at the Target I just got back from. $12.99. I'm it at $9.99/under. But definitely not in a rush to pick this up again.

This release also includes both cuts of the film, which the previous BD did not. Add in all the omitted extras, a few new ones and movie cash... for $9.99? Seems like an easy buy.

Great promo, brings you up to speed... and it makes story (and financial) sense that they take a more global approach with this one. Lol, they probably won't have kids with spears cheering in this one. Should join the Billion dollar club, I'd be surprised if it didn't.
