Free Streaming Short Film Links

A lot of short films are published on free streaming sites for viewers to watch legally. Have you found any good ones lately?

I think it would be fun to post the ones we find and enjoy here, so that everybody else can have a watch. I know a lot of good ones get published on sites like Vimeo and even Youtube, but I never know how to properly search for them without having to sift through countless pages of nonsense.

The one and only SHORT FILM thread of limited runtime

I did a search, but didn't see a thread dedicate to short films. So, I figured I'd start one, by posting a short film that I saw at a film festival a few years back, and has finally been released on Funny or Die.

Thread Rules? Sure! How about:
1. Embed the video if you can.
2. Include the title (they don't always appear in the embed)
3. Include a brief description.

I'll start it off!

After the Credits directed by Josh Lawson
Official description: We've seen it a hundred times before - boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back, and they live happily ever after. Until the credits roll. And after that, it's a completely different story.
Fun fact: this stars Robin McLeavy, who was the lead character in the Australian horror flick, The Loved Ones.

How about another!

Yellow Sticky Notes
For the first time in Canadian history, 15 of Canada's most acclaimed independent animators have come together to create a collaborative animated film. Yellow Sticky Notes | Canadian Anijam is an innovative and global approach to animation filmmaking and unites animators from coast to coast, from Vancouver to Halifax and all parts in between, to self reflect on one day of their lives using only 4x6 inch yellow sticky notes, a black pen and animation meditation.

So old, the only way you can find it on YouTube is in two parts. So good, they gave the director the keys to Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and Surviving Christmas.

"On a post-apocalyptic Earth, Leila Dawn (Natalie Floyd), is the only human survivor. Raised by Robots after humanity abandoned the planet they destroyed with nuclear warfare, Leila cannot forget her parents nor ignore her yearning to find other organic life. A hunt she sets out on with a Military Unit, Marker (Lex Cassar), leads Leila to discover the reality she’s been denied—a reality that sparks her ultimate quest."

There's also this thread but the more the merrier, IMO.

I LOVE this one, which I saw a few years ago:

That was awesome. I hate the current generation for exactly what that short shows. Her look at the end is priceless.

(I saw this a year ago as a "Highly Commended" short along with the 2013 Oscar Animated Short nominees and thought this was better than all of those)

Also worth seeing is Nina Paley's great short This Land Is Mine about the "Holy" Land. (And this short ends with a perfect final representation on who that land really belongs to):

There was an auction for adaptation rights for this short, which was shot for $51k.

Was that predator one any good. It had a good idea but looked boring as hell to me.

I'll wait for the theatrical version of that. When's that due? I think in 2-3 years?

I don't think a release date for the feature-length remake has been set, even tentatively. They haven't started shooting yet though, so 2-3 years seems likely.

I don't see why you wouldn't watch the short now though, there's not going to be any overlap of footage; the feature is starting from scratch. Even the story is being re-written.

Re: Quality Short Movies on Youtube

I'm just joking, I've seen it a few times already. It's very interesting, and could possibly be a really cool feature length movie. And hey, Rutger Hauer is in it, so I'm already interested.

Re: Quality Short Movies on Youtube

I've seen the film, Black Angel, not sure how I like how clunky it comes off w/ the fighting in the end. I get what they were doing in some shots but in others it looks bad.
