The movie looks okay, I could take it or leave it. I am disappointed that Cruise is still going for this kind of safe, formula film... I was hoping he'd leave that for his Mission Impossible movies and choose different, riskier pics (like Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, Valkyrie). Summer 2011 is M:I4, so nothing really interesting from Tom for a couple yrs at least... If he wants that oscar this isn't gonna get it done.

This looks fun to me, although i'm someone that enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the humor and action in this seems similar.

I guess he still wants that likable guy image. But with his box office reign having declined over the yrs, I just figure why not go for other kinds of films right now. As good as he looks he's getting too old for parts like this... and you got guys like Dicaprio and Damon really pushing themselves with stellar film after film, but I guess Cruise is content to just coast to the finish line.

Too bad a movie from the director of Cop Land and 3:10 to Yuma looks so safe and not that great.
Also, the title sounds like some mid-to-late 80's cop show that lasted a full season tops. Starring Michael Nouri as Knight and Valerie Bertinelli as Day.

Cruise is a different kind of actor, I think. More an old fashioned movie star in the vein of Cary Grant, than one in the vein of Brando like DiCaprio, IMO. Cruise has gone outside his box with Born on the Fourth..., Collateral, and even Tropic Thunder. Still, I always knew it was Cruise, as opposed to the others who often seem to disappear into their characters. I don't think one is better than the other, just different.
And I think this movie looks fun.

Tom Cruise has always been one of my favorite actors, and yes, he has some crazy, but he has toned that down alot, has a great looking family, and picking some good roles lately.

I don't know what to think of this movie. It looks stupid, but funny. Pointless, but lot of action. I don't know, maybe I'll see it when it come out on DVD/Blu Ray, but not in theaters.

I saw this at a test screening last night. We were the first audience to see it, so much of the FX work was unfinished, might've had a temp score, too. Signed the typical NDAs, so I'm not supposed to talk about it...
