Damn. I just turned 26. Mortality is a bitch.
RIP. Though I didn't see her around a ton, she mostly seemed to work in and around quality material (I think of Mike Judge, Robert Rodriguez, Curtis Hansen, Penny Marshall, I see a Futurama movie, etc.).

Uh...holy crap.
I'll remember her mainly for Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, and of course as the voice of Luanne on King of the Hill. But truth be told, I liked her in almost everything I saw her in. She had a very goofy, cute, likable quality to her as a performer.

Again, wow....
Saw this at ComingSoon.net. First the fact that Avatar had "soared" at box office this weekend, despite the heavy snowstorms on the east coast-- smiled in gratitude-- and then Brittany Murphy had died at 32. Immediately sobered with shock. Always liked her, and happy to hear she was nice in person.
Rest in peace, Miss Murphy.

UPDATE 3:11 PM ET -- Sources tell TMZ Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're told when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to reports, Brittany Murphy was fired from an upcoming film that was shooting in Puerto Rico for being difficult on set and a detriment to production.
We're not sure which film, but Murphy's IMDB profile indicates that this film may have been The Caller, which also stars True Blood cast member Stephen Moyer.
It took about 15 seconds for Brittany to be replaced, too. Twilight and New Moon star Rachelle Lefevre reportedly hopped on a plane as soon as Murphy was out.
A source also says that Brittany was so pissed about getting booted from the film that she didn't want to leave Puerto Rico and had "plans to sabotage the film."
That would qualify her as a Grade A nut job.

Wow I'm shocked. Normally I wouldn't give to much credence to a source like TMZ.com, but they were the 1st to report MJ's death.
Pretty sad end to a short life. I actually watched a couple of her most recent films "Ramen Girl", which was really good and some horrible SyFy movie "Mega Fault."

I wouldn't say she was a nut job based on just that. I think many are correct in speculating that the odd behavior and death are a result of narcotics. We'll have to wait and see.

I actually saw news of this before reading about Avatar's good opening. That kind of nullified any concern I had with that movie.
This is truly sad, as she was quite beautiful in the stuff she did circa 8 Mile, and with Happy Feet she proved she had singing talent as well. She must have had some serious personal issues and felt her career was on a permanent downturn.

holy crap, thats too bad I liked her, but I heard she had some Drug Problems. Thats quite unexpected, sad to see someones life cut that short.
