Steve Johnson launches YouTube channel; freaking awesome.
Steve Johnson, a fairly prolific SFX artist from the pre-CGI days has launched a YouTube channel and is making mini-documentaries about the film's he's worked on.
The guy is very blunt and to the point (he pulls no punches talking about his work with James Cameron), and the production values are very impressive for a free web series. Best of all, he has apparently extensively documented his work over the past two decades so it's not just a guy telling stories, he has the footage to back it up. Right now, he's been talking about his work on "The Abyss" which he was the man behind the NTI creature effects. It's very revealing stuff and the sort of thing that would never see the light of day on a studio backed DVD. http://www.youtube.com/SteveJohnsonFX
