.....there was a cool image of a toy or statue w/ CC in his hood and some black holsters and coat, it was in the original Joe thread. he looked badass in that. Much more believable than the cartoon had w/ the costume

I hope these guys stick to their guns and write a better script, which it seems like they will. However, I also hope they don't get booted from the project because what they want to do clashes with what the studio and Sommers want.

I just hope they don't ditch the extended final fight flashback between Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes that was discussed in the audio commentary of the first movie. Also it'd be great if they got Stuart Beattie to collaborate with these guys on the script.

Summers isn't signed for the sequel. He may wind up getting hired back but right now it's up in the air. Ditto for Joseph Gordon-Levitt surprisingly enough.

G.I. Joe wasn't a great movie, but I liked it and I'm down for some more Storm Shadow/Snake Eyes, and Cobra Commander actually getting to be Cobra Commander and Destro with the mask.

I bet the douche producer that said it looked like a KKK hood is the same producer that tried to force them to ditch Snake Eyes' mask and also tried to have the kick-ass fight with the kids removed from the movie.

I liked it as well, the first half was really good, second half it went down hill but I still enjoyed it, plus sienna miller and rachel nichols didnt hurt either

MTV Movies Blog caught up with Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently and interviewed him about GI Joe 2, the sequel to GI Joe Rise of Cobra from 2009. It turns out, the sequel may start shooting next spring for a release in summer 2012, also the GI Joe Real American Hero 30th Anniversary. Bonaventura hasn't said whether the cast from Rise of Cobra will return for the sequel:
MTV: So then you'd start shooting when?
di Bonaventura: We'd probably start next spring.
MTV: Are Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the rest of the main cast going to return?
di Bonaventura: We haven't defined it yet. We're gonna keep that under wraps for the moment. They all did great and we liked them all. It's hard to manage as many characters as we tried. It would make life a little easier to have a few less. It'd be a hard decision to lose anybody, because they all did great.
As far as bringing Larry Hama onboard he hasn't been brought onboard yet. The crew will probably finish up the 1st draft of the script, and give it to him for review, like they did with the 1st movie.
With the success of movies such as Avatar in 3D, MTV, asked if GI Joe 2 will go 3D:
MTV: Have there been any conversations about doing the sequel in 3-D?
di Bonaventura: No, I mean we're still working on getting the script. I'd definitely be open to it, but that's Paramount's decision. But myself and whoever the director is would have a big say in that. But at this point, we haven't gotten into that conversation.

I wonder if Tatum and JGL are getting the boot? I hope so with Tatum, and I just want a more classic Cobra Commander. Hell reveal the Rex was just a pawn and the real CC was behind the scenes pulling the strings.

I'm with those that want Tatum gone, and bring in Jensen Ackles as Flint. He is PERFECT for that shit.
I liked the first Joe movie way more than I thought I would. I can't imagine how much I would have liked it if Tatum wasn't in it.

It's pretty bad when a G.I. Joe character acts better than you. Hell, I bet those little 3' figures are more articulated for acting than Tatum.

Not sure if it's the same people that keep tossing his name in the hat for every other super hero casting call, but all I know him as was some mediocre character on Smallville.
