Re: Guy Ritchie to direct Lobo
I like Guy Ritchie, so I'll reserve judgment. However, I'm not typically a ratings nazi, but is seems that if any popular comics character is R rated, it would be Lobo.

I always look forward to Ritchie movies (although he's not without his missteps, like most directors). I'll reserve judgement until I see something from it.

Re: Guy Ritchie to direct Lobo
From /Film;
WB just set Brad Peyton, whose last two films were Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, to rewrite and direct Lobo.
Deadline reports Peyton’s hire, but doesn’t have many more details on the film. Joel Silver has been producing, or trying to produce, Lobo for some time. At one point Guy Ritchie was tipped for the project, but he walked away from that quite a while back to do the Sherlock Holmes sequel.

Lobo isn't a D-level comic character. He isn't A-level, but he is certainly a far cry from a D-lister.
But yeah this movie needs to a hard R rating. PG-13 Lobo would suck as much as PG-13 Wolverine or Punisher.

I'd rather this didn't see the light of day if they don't do it right
I like Rock as an action guy, but that script is terrible.
PG13?!?!?!?! Have they read any Lobo?
My first time reading all of this so I'm just sad to see all of this.
We don't need to go back to crap superhero movies. Green Lanturn turned out to be a turd...let's not return to crap for a fast buck.

Michael Bay Eyed to Direct DC Superhero ‘Lobo’ Movie (Exclusive)
https://www.thewrap.com/lobo-michael-bay-dc-superhero/
Prolific action director Michael Bay is being eyed to direct his first-ever superhero movie, “Lobo,” which DC and Warner Bros. hope could be their answer to “Deadpool,” multiple insiders told TheWrap exclusively.
Bay met with DC to discuss the project and gave some notes that “Wonder Woman” writer Jason Fuchs will incorporate into a rewrite, the insiders told TheWrap. The studio plans to show the rewrite to Bay to see if they can make a deal, the insiders said.

I thought this was supposedly shelved? Also Bay? I guess it can’t be any more of a train wreck than the other DCEU films.

Well, who knows if it will happen. Apparently he's interested but also wants a re-write on the current script. Kind of interested to see what Bay could do, especially if they allow an R-rating.

Makes me think the new guy is just as incompetent as who he took over for. Seems like we’re already getting conflicting stories about what is and isn’t getting made.

Re: Lobo -- news, rumors, etc.
Well, when Michael Bay comes to you seeming interested, they'll take a look. It's up to Toby Emmerich whether the script is up to snuff. If he, and Bay, don't like it (and can't come down from that insane $200M budget), then it'll be shelved (again) and likely end up as a series on their On Demand service.
