I really like Lethal Weapon 4 as well... I was an usher at a really slow theatre the summer it came out and I must have watched it from start to finish at least 10 times while 'working'.

Bad Boys III would definitely be something i'd keep an eye out for if the three principles return. Bad Boys II was great, and the first one wasn't bad for an action film made on the cheap. A middle ground would be ideal.

On the Lethal Weapon note. I like all the films in the series, but find the third one to be the weakest link. The fourth isn't bad at all, if not a tad too comical.

I want more fun summer movies like Bad Boys 2 or Lethal Weapon 4 or Die Hard 3..
I would argue that nothing about the Bad Boys series is mature or adult. Not for kids? Absolutely. For adults? Nope.

I noticed that the tv version is prob missing 25 to 30 min or so. And most of the deletions actually make the movie flow better. the big deletions are the scene at the electronics store once the tech guy hits the wrong button and the porno starts, the scene with all of the naked corpses, and the scene where the martin lawrence character see's the rats having sex. Now only if someone could make a version like that that has all the graphic violence and language

Bad Boys II is action porn, plain and simple and it revels in its self-indulgence.

THAT is what makes it an awesome movie. It KNOWS it's big, loud and stupid and it enjoys being so, there's absolutely no pretense.

Marcus Burnett: You a virgin?
Reggie: Yes, sir.
Marcus Burnett: Good. Keep it that way. Ain't gonna be no fucking tonight.
Mike Lowery: You ever made love to a man?
Reggie: No.
Mike Lowery: You want to?

The first one was loud and dumb, but entertaining nonetheless. Never saw the second, but I've heard wildly differing opinions. I guess I'd maybe watch a third? Nah, actually, I doubt it.

You should give the second one a spin before saying that.

Agreed. Should I happen to catch it on some HD station, I'll record it for later viewing.

only version that airs on tv is the edited for cable version that omits many scenes, cuts almost all of the language, and the really graphic violence is cut too)

And if you're not watching ridiculously bloated, foul-mouthed, insanely violent version of Bad Boys II, you really aren't watching it at all. That'd be like watching a version of Bowling for Columbine with no guns.

I enjoyed both Bad Boy movies. I can't wait for the third one.

About Bad Boys and Transformers, I noticed that Téa Leoni and Megan Fox looks a little similar.

I wish Bay went into the Transformers franchise with the same mindset.

He did. Didn't you see Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen?

I did.

Bad Boys II is a wonderful exercise in Grand Guignol. It's big, loud, and offensive as it pushes the limits of good taste in what should be in a mainstream action film.

Transformers 2 is just an exercise of how much destruction, mayhem, and terrible comedy one can cram into a two and a half hour time frame with no rhyme or reason. Now if the film was rated R and Bay included a scene where Sam's annoying roommate was torn apart by the Decepticons and his guts flew everywhere and an extremely pointless Megan Fox nude scene, I might've rated the film one star instead of a zero. And that's a huge might've.

I find Bad Boys II and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen to be equal steaming piles of crap.

Bad Boys 2 was fun.

Transformers 2 was not.

Both movies made me want to gouge my eyes out. After The Island and Transformers, I thought Bad Boys II was a painful memory. Then Bay unleased Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen unto the world. Both those sequels are cut from the same cloth.

Yup. Bad Boys II actually forced me to realize Bay hadn't made a good movie since The Rock. Up until that point I had given Armageddon a bit of a pass, but nope. That was the beginning of the end.

And considering that his movies have actually gotten worse since BBII (which is an amazing feat considering what a shitpile that movie was) I'm just glad we got the original Bad Boys and The Rock before he completely lost his marbles.

Bad Boys II is one of the finest neanderthal action movies ever made. I'm still eagerly awaiting it on Blu-ray. There's a reason it was mentioned alongside Point Break in Hot Fuzz

re: Bad Boys For Life -- Aw hell yes it's happening... (2020, D: El Arbi, Fallah)

EXCLUSIVE: The mantra behind Sony Pictures’ recent restructure that brings in Michael De Luca as production co-president was to make higher quality tent poles. That means spending money on hot writers. I’m told the studio is in early talks with David Guggenheim to script Bad Boys 3, which the studio hopes will bring back Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as fast-talking undercover cops who solve crimes with spectacular action, gunplay, and harsh language. Guggenheim scripted Safe House, the Denzel Washington-Ryan Reynolds action thriller.

Bad Boys II was released a decade ago, and the sequel grossed $273 million on a $160 million budget. Michael Bay directed the first two, but he doesn’t seem to be involved, at least at this point. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the pic. Sony is trying to do this with the original cast, which makes it different from the other big franchise reboots in the works, Men In Black and Ghostbusters. Those are being rebooted. With Ghostbusters, that has a lot to do with Bill Murray being unwilling to reprise his signature role. With Men In Black, the deal making on that film got to be prohibitively expensive with all the talent and producer back ends, to the point it was becoming impossible for the studio to make money.

Since making a splash with Safe House, Guggenheim has been working steadily on action thrillers that include a Safe House sequel, as well as the Scott Free-produced Narco Sub for Doug Liman to direct, the McG-directed Puzzle Palace, and Weaponized, an adaptation of the novel Guggenheim wrote with Nicholas Mennuti. He just worked for Sony Pictures, scripting the new draft of Uncharted/Drake’s Fortune. Guggenheim is repped by Paradigm and Madhouse Entertainment.

Martin Lawrence told TMZ last year that he got the script for Bad Boys III.

Maybe the script was a piece of shit and now they hiring another writer.
