Re: Movies that made you cry.

I've never actually cried during a movie, but I wanted to cry at the end of Titanic.

Slingblade.
I've watched it a bunch of times but this weekend it hit me hard. I never noticed that Karl was taking care of Frank just as if he was his little brother.

ET when I was a kid.

The beginning of Benjamin Button, but only because my mother died last year in the hospital and it brought back memories.

Mrs. Doubtfire

No joke. The first time I saw it as a kid, I cried.

Terminator 2- the T-800's thumbs up as he destroys himself
Transformers: The Movie- Optimus Prime dying
Batman Begins- The Arkham Asylum scene with the bats...it was a union of some frames from the comics that I prominently remember
Superman- When Superman saves Lois in that helicopter scene, and...the intro credits with that music playing.
Spider-Man 1-3- any scene with Uncle Ben from his death onward....

Yeah...I have nerdy moments

Re: Movies that made you cry.

I saw a movie last week that had the tears rolling by the end. Leelee Sobieski and Albert Brooks in My First Mister. Never even heard of it before, but it turned out pretty good.

I didn't feel like crying, but I was struck by how many people were sad about the death of a fictional character, while seemed unconcerned about the large number of very real deaths that occurred and were represented.

Saving Private Ryan didn't make me cry either, but the bit where the American is painfully slowly stabbed to death while being told "it's okay" stays with me, and disturbs the hell out of me.

Honourable mentions - I cried during Billy Madison. The only time in my life I laughed until I cried. Haven't laughed that hard before or since. No idea why.

Re: Movies that made you cry.

I typically don't cry during movies, but ever so often something hits close to home and it reminds me of something bad that occured in my life and I'll get choked up. Like when my grandfather passed away from a heart attack, and then like a month later I see that in a film. Totally got me all choked up.

The movie is from the mid 1950s, Grandpa! It is likely that many here have never even seen it.

Re: Movies that made you cry.

I hardly ever get sad or cry at movies. The only one that really bothered me, and it pisses me of that it did, was I Am Legend with the whole dog thing. I didn't cry but I got choked up.

Of all the stinkin' movies I've ever watched, a Will Smith movie got me emotional.

Re: Movies that made you cry.

While it's not a movie, I always get choked up in Cowboy Bebop whenever
Spoiler:
Ed leaves.

(not really a HUGE spoiler, but still don't want to give away anything to those who haven't watched the show)

And rest assured that any movie with pets or any animals dying will get me every time.

Yeah when Damon's character as an adult asks if he lived a good life. Forgot that scene.

Got to me too. I'll probably never have another movie going experience like Private Ryan. The movie just let you in awe by experiencing what those guys must have gone through. I still remember the approaching sound of the tanks and how scary that must have been.

Another weeper for me is Dances with Wolves at the end when they are leaving the tribe, and the warrior yells out that he will always be their friend, or something like that.
