I very much like this movie, but can't stand the--see it coming from a mile down the road--ending. Not just because you see it coming, but because it just too facile.

Actually Nicolas Cage is relevant, because he was cast in the McGregor part before dropping out. now that would've been weird, Ghost Rider and Ghost Writer

It's interesting when movies are dismissed as having "obvious" twists/endings that are not really obvious unless you are not simply sitting back watching the film and instead obsessing over an ending that is in no way obvious.
