re: Reynolds to reprise Deadpool in "X-Men" spin-off?
Expanded interview:
“I love Deadpool, and there is a script that’s in development. But it’s so, so far into the R-rated zone,” he told Empire. “It’s a nearly NC-17 world and I just don’t know if the studio would ever risk their reputation doing it. We’ve been developing it and we would never wanna do it unless you could it that R-rated way, s o…”
He continued, “[The Deadpool script has] got a similar tone [to Zombieland], almost. [Zombieland writers Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick] wrote it and they developed it as well and, you know, it’s sitting there. You could do it for a pittance compared to the modern sort of epic scale superhero movies, but it’s about a guy who knows he’s in a movie and knows he’s in a comic book who is deeply mentally disturbed and hyper violent. And that’s tough to get by a studio.”
Even if it does get approved, don’t expect Deadpool be the same as the one you met in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Still, Reynolds said this new movie will reference “Deadpool’s appearance in Wolverine.”
“I’ve always wanted to do the movie just if only because Deadpool would get to do his own movie trailer. So that’s a thing that we were dying to do and we would love to be a part of that,” he said. “I don’t know how it would fit though, no. In the current iteration of the script, it doesn’t address Wolverine — though it does address Deadpool’s appearance in Wolverine. Deadpool was not happy with Deadpool in Wolverine. He has a sort of a WTF!? moment with that.”

re: Reynolds to reprise Deadpool in "X-Men" spin-off?
Might have some movement with this.
21st Century Fox (NASDAQ: FOXA ) is getting more serious about bringing Marvel Comics properties to the big screen, Fool contributor Tim Beyers says in the following video.
A new film starring the mutant team known as the X-Men (X-Men: Days of Future Past) is due next May, followed by a reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise in March 2015. And after that? Look for a film starring the goofball assassin known as Deadpool, Tim says.
Actor Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, recently told JoBlo.com that longstanding plans to make a Deadpool film have have tiptoed forward in recent weeks. A series of big box office wins for Walt Disney's Marvel properties may be the push 21st Century Fox needs to greenlight the project, Tim says.
Roadblocks remain, of course. Especially since Reynolds' history with comic book films isn't pretty. Both Green Lantern and R.I.P.D. failed at the box office. Still, Deadpool is a popular character. A dark, R-rated comedy -- the sort of film Reynolds says he wants -- could play well with audiences while reminding fans that Disney isn't the only source of quality Marvel films, Tim says.

At this point, I'm sure this'll get made by the time Reynolds is living in a nursing home.

I wouldn't blame his lack of success in those bombs on him. He's just an actor. Though that can be an important factor.

I don't blame Reynolds pushing for this. A comic book movie based from X-Men is as safe of a bet that he can probably get.

I stop collecting comics just before Deadpool was introduce, so I have no attachment to him like I do other marvel characters. But I would go see this movie if it ever got made.
That looked pretty cool.
