Why do you seem to include all of Day-Lewis' films, yet only include Brando's when he was "in his prime"? Brando made sometinkers late in life.

As to the original question, "all-time" is an awful long time, so no.

I voted No.

Ingrid Bergman is my favorite.

haha - The Godfather was one big speech impediment for Brando

No matter what you haters think, Hollywood thinks she great. They may not award her, but they nominate her an awful lot. She may walk away from this Planet with the most nominations, at this rate. She seems to get one every other year.

I didn't vote in this poll because I don't think I could make an informed decision.

I will say though that I think she has a great talent.

Streep isn't even the best of her generation -- I'd rather watch a bad Faye Dunaway movie than a "good" Meryl Streep film.

No, that would be Robert Ryan.

Did Katherine Hepburn ever sing in a movie? How many nominations for awards did she get?

I've only seen a few films starring Meryl Streep, but she endeared herself to me when I discovered she was engaged to one of the greatest actors of the 1970s (John Cazale).

None that I know of, for which we should be grateful. If only Streep had that much wisdom.

Hepburn also never did anything as awful as She-Devil or the Manchurian Candidate remake.

How many nominations for awards did she get?
12 Oscar nominations of which she won four, compared to Streep's two wins and fourteen noms. Hepburn also had nominations for BAFTA, Golden Globes, Emmys, and the Tonys, of which she scored wins for the BAFTAs and Emmys.

I am of the opinion that eventually Kate Winslet will possess a body of work that is the equal of Meryl Streep's.

I agree with this and think that she (Winslet) is our finest living actress.

I agree, but for now she isn't quite there yet.

Damn, she's right. I can't think of a real "Meryl Streep film". Jesus, that's gotta do something to your sense of self.

Re: Is Meryl Streep the Greatest Actress of All-Time?

That's fake, right? Right? Certainly she didn't write this:

"A couple things bother me about The Deer Hunter. One, it's overrated. Yes, I said it. And two, how long was I in the The Deer Hunter? Three, maybe four minutes? Truthfully, I don't really remember being in the The Deer Hunter at all. (Same goes for Manhattan.) Then there's Out Of Africa, which, come on. We all know that movie was kind of the worst. That and The Bridges Of Madison County...don't even get me started on The Bridges Of Madison County."

It's the Onion. Of course it's not real.
