Biutiful (Inarritu, 2009) w/ Javier Bardem
From Variety:
Javier Bardem will star in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's "Biutiful," the Mexican helmer's first project after his much-publicized bust-up with former screenwriting partner Guillermo Arriaga.
Spanish-language pic "Biutiful," which Gonzalez Inarritu wrote, shoots on location in Barcelona next week.
Pic is about a man embroiled in shady dealings who is confronted by a childhood friend, now a policeman.

I still wanna see it too. It seemed to have fallen off the earth. Never saw it released anywhere near me and no DVD/Blu-ray disc announced.

just watched this. pretty phenomenal. as much as i love Guillermo Arriaga's suspenseful writing, it's refreshing to see Innaritu tackle a piece of work without him, just to get a different feel. There's a definite continuity of parental themes cast from Babel, but this is a more focused storyline. As usual, it's depressing.
