He probably has some Balrog-repellant Bat-spray in the Batcopter.

What I wanna see is Damian Wayne versus a Nazgul.

I'll go even further and call it bad. I'm sure the movie will be great but the trailer is terrible.

What didn't you like about it?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I thought it was a pretty effective trailer

Better than the TDK one imo, which was too punny for its own good.

Haven't seen the LOTR trilogy so I don't care which is best.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I just hope that The Hobbit, with it's 3D and 48fps stands up next to the original trilogy in a way that one can watch them all together without things being terrible disjointed.

I am glad that they've recreated many of the same sets and are using the original locations, but we'll see.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Wow, this thread is really starting to drift. I actually feel sorry for the Nolan fans.

Groucho, I can never tell when you're being serious, but assuming you are, I think you can put your fears aside. Peter Jackson isn't going to be including cheap "in-your-face" 3D effects in the movies, he is going more for the immersive experience that Cameron achieved in Avatar. And they have already confirmed that the 24fps versions of the films will be created in such a way that they recreate all of the artifacts of 24fps filmmaking, such as motion blur.

My guess is that watching the new films in 24fps 2D alongside the original films will be a seamless experience.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

While I'm not a huge Nolan fan (he's hit or miss for me), I found BB to be better on subsequent viewings. I LOVED TDK when it came out, but have found myself just skipping to the Joker parts as I've watched it since it's BD release. Inception was just not my cup o' tea, I found it boring and a bit pretentious. I should try it again - I actually fell asleep during it.

This new trailer just doesn't do it for me, for some reason. And to me, I should be excited about it, but I'm just not.

I guess I should be fair and say that I prefer Tim Burton's movies to the "ultra-realistic" Nolan universe. I just preferred the diry/gothic Gotham to the Inception one. I don't want to see carefully staged martial arts extreme/Bourne fights. I loved the "one punch" or almost comic-panel fights from TB's movies.

I'll see TDKR because I love Batman, but this whole "realistic" approach just isn't as delightful as TB's. Of course, Schumacher's were absolute shite.

Ultimately, will see the movie, but not based on the trailer which does nothing at all for me.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

^ Funny, over the years I've come to really dislike the Burton Batman movies. I still enjoy Batman '89 but not like I have over the years, not so much because of the Nolan versions, just that Burton's hasn't aged so well.

Agreed. Batman Returns definitely doesn't hold up as well.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I actually think that Batman Returns is the more enjoyable of Burton's movies actually. The last time I watched Batman I was kind of bored with it and almost shut it off.
