What ever happened to Brittany Murphy?

Brittany Murphy has only appeared in 1 movie in the past 2 years.

Seems like she went from being in everything to nothing. Surely, her 15 minutes couldn't be up. I always liked her.

she was never a particularly good actress was she? i mean she looks ok, but never really saw any substance with her performances: slutty, but ok in 8 Mile, i thought she was a weak link in Sin City, nothing outstanding in Girl, Interrupted.

IMDB has 5 projects listed in some form of production so maybe she was just taking a little time off.

Can we have an official "What The Hell Happened to _______" thread?

My question is what the hell happened to Bridget Fonda?

she's a mediocre actress who isn't all that distinctively attractive. i see no reason for her to be in a significant number of movies.

Retired, as did Phoebe Cates.

Didn't she get married to a con man or something?

Or am I thinking of someone else?

"Dead Girl" was good. She wasn't necessarily the strongest point in the piece, but her part was decent.

She has a very bad reputation in Hollywood. She treats people like crap on the set, is always late, and has a drug problem (coke/meth).

Oh and the fact that she can't act.

Brittany Murphy has always had steady work. She's the voice of Luanne of the "King of the Hill" animated comedy series. She has movies coming out soon, accordings to IMDB. She was never an A-list star. She's been a consistent B-movie star.

I have to say, I thought The Dead Girl was a pretty awesome movie and she was good in it, but I guess that was a couple years ago already.

I was going to say, she's riding the gravy train of animated sitcom voice work. I'd enjoy life if I were making that scratch for doing nothing.

She got too skinny, and became a blonde.

She ruined every scene she was in, in Sin City. I cant' stand her voice, or her terrible acting.

I agree 100%. I hate her as much as I hate Courtney Love. Yes, hate. I rarely use that word, and actually mean it... but this time... I mean it.

She has a decent singing voice, though. I thought she did a good job in Happy Feet.

+1 and the more that I watched that flick, the more I became enamored with it. I also like the song she did with Paul Oakenfold. She was supposedly working on an album, but who knows..

Welcome to modern Hollywood, where actresses have an 18 month shelf-life. You have to be really good or really lucky to last longer than that.

Remember Rachel McAdams? Bridget Moynahan? Denise Richards? All the same.

You're really not comparing Rachel McAdams to Denise Richards, are you? Not only is she leagues better in acting quality but she's still working in A-list films.
