Yeah, Judge can't do the voice right anymore. When the Billy Dee Williams infomercial came out a few years back promoting the DVD releases it was bad then too.

I really enjoy Idicoracy and love Office Space. I'll be seeing this today since I'm sure this won't be in theaters longer than a week.

It was no Office Space and it was no Idicoracy.
It's a good comedy by all means, but it doesn't have the same "impact" that those two films share.
Ben Affleck steals the show as Bateman's best friend, but my one problem with the film lies within it's ending.

The film was done on the cheap ($10 million, give or take) with financing all done independently and Miramax picking up domestic rights. Even if the film only made $104,000 yesterday; it'll recoup all of it's losses and go into the black when it hits video.
Judge's films may not set the box office on fire, the complete opposite in fact, but they do clean house on video.

I was no fan of Office Space, and I loathe both Beavis & Butthead and King of the the Hill, but I have to admit I enjoyed Extract. Maybe this is the Mike Judge film for people who don't like Mike Judge. Jason Bateman plays a very Michael Bluth-like character, so maybe that's why I found the film very watchable.

His films may not make money in their first go around, but doesn't stop them from getting critical acclaim and becoming instant cult classics the instant they hit video.

In Hollywood rules, he shouldn't have gotten another film after Office Space, nor after Idiocracy. Fox continues to show they have no interest in marketing Mike Judge movies, yet they have no problem with him making them.

Perhaps it is the Costner effect. Beavis & Butt-Head movie did pretty good businesss so they will keep letting him make movies. Also King of the Hill was on for 10 years or so. Maybe that plays a part in the decision.

Yes, he should have gotten another film after Office Space considering it was HUGE on home video.

It's name recognition alone. From what it turns out, fans of Mike Judge like to watch his films on television.

Saw it. Nowhere near the level of funny of Office Space, but worlds better than Idiocracy, which had a hilarious first five minutes then went down the drain immediately. Everyone gave a good performance, and Bateman seems tailor made for a Mike Judge film. I will say the for someone from Texas, Mike Judge sure does portray people from there in a somewhat negative light. He seems to think that they are all either rednecks and/or stubborn jack ass types.
