Joseph Gordon Levitt would be good if he gained some weight

As a stand-up Hicks was so far superior to Leary as to be laughable. Hicks had impeccable timing. Not sure how much material you've seen to make the assertion that Leary had better timing or comedic rhythm. Not to mention Hicks was a true original where as Leary was a rip-off artist and a pale imitation.

Anyway good to know this project is back on the front-burner.

I knew of Leary and had seen and heard his standup comedy for years before I even knew who Hicks was. However, it only took about ten minutes of watching Hicks perform to know he was far better than Leary in both his quality of material and its presentation.

Re: Russell Crowe wants to Make a movie on Bill Hicks

I watched Hicks' documentary recently. Rough to see how his career had such ups and downs, but it's a real shame that he hit a great stride, with some wonderfully cynical, inflammatory, insightful material, right as he was dying.

I'm very interested to see how this project unfolds, but I feel confident with Crowe behind it. As for a lead role, I'm not sure who I'd pick yet.
