Looks like Indy should just barely overtake Iron Man by the end of the summer. Bummer. I was hoping IM would hang on there.

Indy doesn't deserve to take the top spot from Iron Man. it was good, but in a summer full of great movies so far it doesn't belong in the top 5. hopefully, marvel holds on and wins the summer. with IM and Hulk, marvel should post an impressive $450m domestic gross.

Indy has hit $720 million worldwide and is now 28th all-time worldwide. IM is 44th all-time worldwide.

Who really cares if Indiana Jones makes more than Iron Man? Does it really make a difference? Besides, worldwide totals put Indiana Jones over Iron Man by about $160 million -- a few million domestic aint gonna do much for "bragging rights", for whatever they're worth.

Well I guess now Will Smith is the first and only actor with 8 in a row 100 million. That is quite a streak.

The only compelling reason for rooting for a movie to succeed is because you want to see a sequel. I would say Iron Man has a much better chance of that happening than Indiana Jones does.

Indeed impressive, considering none of those films have been particularly great. At least according to the critical consensus.

According to the critical consensus, his three films before Hancock were certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Yeah but an Iron Man sequel is already a forgone conclusion -- regardless of whether or not it does better than Indiana Jones. I would even say that with its across-the-board critical raves, financial success, and audience word-of-mouth, that the film is (so far) THE success story of the summer.

Also, beach volleyball and groin for

I know we're only in July, but I'm rooting for Indy to finish #1 for the year. It would make the "nuke the fridge" phrase even more pointless.

MY FAVORITE...SOME PREDICTIONS WITH CURRENT NUMBERS.
I think the OP has some good predictions.
Heres mine.

1. The Dark Knight - $328 million AS YET UNKNOWN
2. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - $313 million 306+ M
3. Wall-E - $232 million (I have zero interest in this.) $128+ M
4. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - $217 million (I also have zero interest in this.) 138+ M
5. Iron Man - $188 million 300+ M: BIGGEST MISSED CALL
6. Kung Fu Panda: $168m (Have zero interest in this and all kids movies pretty much 193+ M
7. Sex and the City - $136.5 million ADJUSTED FIGURE…STILL INCORRECTLY
8. Wanted: $135.2 million 90+ M
9. Hancock - $132 million 107+ M: FIRST WEEKEND!
10. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - $124 million AS YET UNKNOWN
11. The Incredible Hulk - $118 million 125+ M: YOU ALSO PREDICTED BEFORE THIS WOULD MAKE 132 MILLION AND IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE IT COULD REACH 150 MILLION.
12. Tropic Thunder - $112 million AS YET UNKNOWN
13. Pineapple Express: $110m million AS YET UNKNOWN
14. Step Brothers - $101 million AS YET UNKNOWN
15. Get Smart - $81 million 98+ M
16. You Don't Mess With the Zohan - $80 million 95+ M
17. X-Files Sequel - $ 77 million (I hope this does good..I'm pulling for it.) AS YET UNKNOWN
18. The Love Guru: $73 million 29+ M
19. Hellboy 2 - $66 million AS YET UNKNOWN
20. Mamma Mia- $65.5 million AS YET UNKNOWN
21. Speed Racer - $54 43+ M: YOUR FIGURES ON THIS MOVIE FLUCTUATED WILDLY, THOUGH YOU DID ACCURATELY PREDICT ITS FAILURE
22. The Happening - $50 million 62+ M
23. Meet Dave - $44.87 million (I hate everyone involved in this production with a passion) AS YET UNKNOWN
24. What Happens in Vegas... - $36.9 million 79+ M
25. Babylon A.D. - $26.8 million (if this is actually even released) AS YET UNKNOWN

MIGHT COME TRUE. MAYBE.
Batman will be No. 1.
Mark my words. Followed by indy, Iron Man, and (ugh..) Wall-E (maybe)
These quotes simply illustrate your wildly different predictions over time, and it took me fifteen minutes to compile, at most. Your SATC predictions changed a lot. Your horrid underestimation of Iron Man and then later changing to make it the #3 movie of the summer. It's not bad you alter your opinions, it's just you state so authoritatively that THIS is DEFINITIVELY how much money this movie will make, then change your exactly accurate figures later without any sort of remembrance of what you said before.

It's hard to say how accurate you are on your predictions, because it's first hard to know which ones we're talking about. If it's your initial thoughts, I think if you adjusted your first gut feeling to about 133% of what you think it will make, you would be very close on your numbers more than 50% of the time. Also, it's hard to evaluate how accurate these will be without final numbers, but if you keep saying you're never wrong, in 6 months or so, I'll do more definitive research.

I don't dislike you, chris, so please don't be offended. I think you're hilarious quite often. But I don't look at your predictions as anything I would bank on.

Uh, WRONG. First you said the new Hulk would bring in $118 million...then you changed your mind and went with $132 million...then you said it would probably make $150 million....now you're convieniently back to $132 million.

My initial summer prediction for Hulk was $118 million.
That was back in April I believe,. WHen the film came out and opened up I said it looked like it wouldnt do more than $132 million. I never said it would probably do $150 million. I said it was a possibility it could do $150 million but I stll didnt believe it would do that.
Overall I'd say my predictions were not too off for the most part.

I think they just mean a movie in general that passes $100 million during it's run, not simply $100 million within it's opening days. Not all his movies recently have done that.
