Re: Smurfs - Live action

The Tangled trailer angers me more than the one for Despicable Me. The only thing missing from it was a Smash Mouth song.

Anyone thinking SMURFS might be a good movie, I remind you of two abominable words: Raja Gosnell.

What a filmography!

The Smurfs (2011)
Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008)
Yours, Mine and Ours (2005)
Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004)
Scooby-Doo (2002)
Big Momma's House (2000)
Never Been Kissed (1999)
Home Alone 3 (1997)

Re: Smurfs - Live action

Is Tangled the Rapunzel movie? If so, that actually looks good. It reminds me of Road To El Dorado not Shrek (which I assume was what you were suggesting with that Smash Mouth reference).

Imagine if Pixar had a shot at it and made it completely animated.

From the trailer, this pretty much looks like Alvin and the Chipmunks, but with Smurfs.

Re: Smurfs - Live action

Should have had the Smurfs gangsmurf Smurfette.

Still, this is better as an Anna Nicole Smith parody:

<object width="512" height="288"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/rvuTxFNBKNtEFe099SYuXg"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/rvuTxFNBKNtEFe099SYuXg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" height="288" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

There was a live action one on SNL that was funny too. Think it had Garth Brooks in it. Can't find the clip though.

Thanks for reminding me why I gave up on SNL years ago.

Hey, Never Been Kissed isn't half bad and Scooby Doo 2 and Home Alone 3 are alright. Everything else on that list sucks ass though.

This guys gives hacks a bad name. A filmography completely devoid of anything even remotely interesting.

Re: Smurfs - Live action

Never been kissed seems like his only original the only thing missing from his resume is the Wild Wild West Fresh Prince movie ( whatever ) he identifies with no one except toddlers who has no idea what the original was actually about ... The rest of us are just left disappointed

I was thinking more like the offspring of Christopher "Shooter McGavin" McDonald and Joe Piscopo.

Re: Smurfs - Live action

Damn I couldn't get into it. And the smurfs look more cute on the posters. The animation sucks...they got that thick CGI movement.

They should have made it like that owl movie..cool cgi animation in smurfland with no humans!

Re: Smurfs - Live action

Or at the very least keep it in the medieval fantasy setting of the show.
