Mediocrity might be the best case scenario for this movie.

The last trailer doesn't make it look absolutely horrible.

I just can't help but think of what it would have been had Michael Bay directed it

We are complete opposites on this issue. I've stopped watching most trailers because I think they give away far too much. I want the intrigue and the mystery.

Agreed. And that trailer actually spells out the entire plot. You know why the car bombing happened and who the real villain is. That trailer shows too much but it also shows that there's not really much to see in the actual movie as well.

Rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of action including frenetic gun violence throughout, brief strong language, sensuality and some drug material."

They probably replaced the titty coke scene with someone smoking a little bit of weed.

I can't believe that I am warming up to this...the last trailer I saw for this looked pretty badass.

Re: RoboCop (2014, Padilha) S: Kinnaman, Oldman, Jackson

Didn't Verhoeven and Weller originally want to have Robocop move ninja-fast until they realized that that wasn't physically possible because of the cumbersome costume. In fact, wasn't it partially based on of the old Toei Metal Heroes? Anyway, not the world's most promising clip, but there's a 4K remaster of the original on Blu-Ray, so I have what I want, and this remake has served its purpose, whether it's good or bad. Now remake Predator so that we can get rid of the Ultimate Hunter Edition hack job.

Is it sad that I almost want a literal remake cuz that could mean a good BD coming out? I'll watch the remake if my amazon copy has the cash but if not... I'll be fine.

Re: RoboCop (2014, Padilha) S: Kinnaman, Oldman, Jackson

I'd see this if my movie cash actually made the movie free, but out here in So Cal the cheapest ticket I can get would still find me giving a few bucks to this turd.

No deal.

Wow what the fuck was that.. Some of the trailers made this look halfway decent but that just looks terrible. The music especially and just the overall tone of the scene just feels all wrong.

That trailer's got that "tv" feel to it.

Re: RoboCop (2014, Padilha) S: Kinnaman, Oldman, Jackson

Ehh...he moves way to nimble. Plus, without reading previous posts, is this going to be PG13? Not liking what I see so far. The original is a classic on its own. Current Hollywood at its best.

Edit: Whoops just saw a few posts up. PG13. Nope. Pass. That's not a Robocop movie.
