They're also doing a double feature of this with Creepshow at the New Beverly in Hollywood on Oct. 4th and 5th, Dougherty and guests attending, schedules permitting.

I'm considering picking up the Blu-ray as a blind buy because of the good buzz but just not completely sure. As much as I love horror (and I really love horror), it can be a pretty dodgy genre.

^ I'm not telling you what to do one way or the other, but this is a film that I can confidently recommend every horror fan blind buy without question. This is coming from a lifelong, seen-it-all horror fan.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've heard great things about this film here and there, but tried to stay away from any spoilers/plot points. I too am a life long, seen-it-all horror fan and will be picking this up blind. Great horror films come around too infrequently. Can't wait to see this.

I have never made a blind buy of a blu-ray before but I will for this one. I just wanted to show my support to the film makers and to the genre in general (anthology).

A fine horror flick.
No it doesn't live up to the hype. Seriously, how could it? No highly anticipated movie ever does.
But it was entertaining, somewhat original and very well written. If you can't find something to enjoy in this one, you might as well just give up entirely.
Highly recommended!

^ I'll admit that, as much as I enjoyed the film, the hype behind it has built to tremendous proportions. Nothing could live up to it; there's just far too much build-up. I highly recommend horror fans purchase it blindly, but I think you should all keep your expectations in check. At the least, you'll probably end up exceeding them if you don't expect the next outright classic.
But the movie is fucking rad.

Oh my God! This movie was fucking awesome! It definitely lived up to the hype. I only wish I could have seen it on the big screen. This will be added to my Blu-ray collection on October 6th.

Finally managed to see this one tonight. I liked it quite a bit more than I was expecting to, honestly.

Damn 5 star reviews from 15 out of 17 users on amazon - I know it pretty much means jack shit but rarely do you ever see that (well, for the amount of time I'm on the site for anyway).
I'll friggin' buy it.

All the excitement here has me looking forward to this one as well. I noticed Columbia House will be carrying it, so I may try to score it from there.

^ Really? We can't discuss it, but here's some clues:
The same way people always watch stuff before it premieres.
The same way foreigners watch US shows the day after they air
The same way people watch leaked pre-air episodes.

Well I would rather wait and see it on blu-ray than watch it in crappy quality some "other way"
