Don't get me wrong, the first one had it's moments, but after recently watching the first one, I almost fell asleep. If you haven't recently watched both of them, I beg you, don't rely on your memories, watch them both, then pick which one is better. The 2nd one, with all of it's juicy comedy nuggets kept my wide awake. Waynes World 2 wins in my book.
I watch both films at least once a year. The first one is superior in plotting, editing, and the overall lines. Wayne's World 2 some amazing moments, though. My favorite is when they bring in Charlton Heston to play the gas station attendant.

I'm certain if I remember correctly that Siskel & Ebert gave the 1st one bad review and the 2nd one a good review. I didn't like the 1st one.

They gave the first one 2 thumbs up. Not only that, one of them(I think Siskel) put it on his list of 1992's 10 Best Films.

I always lose it when Garth is stabbing Mr. Donut Man and making the "Psycho" noise.

Re: Which Wayne's World movie did you like more?

The cast reunited recently

The Academy of Arts & Sciences held a Wayne's World reunion panel following a screening of the movie last night in LA, with stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey present to celebrate the film's 21st anniversary.

Joining Myers and Carvey at the panel were Wayne's World villain Rob Lowe, director Penelope Spheeris, producer (and Academy president) Hawk Koch, and producer Lorne Michaels. Tickets to the event sold out in 90 seconds.

A lot of news outlets have been incorrectly reporting that Myers and Carvey ended a longstanding feud to appear at the panel together last night, but that's not really the case. Things have been fine between the two for the better part of the last decade, as evidenced by them appearing onstage together as Wayne and Garth at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.

There was no mention of tension between Myers and Carvey, or between Myers and director Penelope Spheeris at that panel. Spheeris told The Hollywood Reporter recently, "We're all getting too old to be pissed."

Cast members Brian Doyle-Murray, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Tia Carrere were all present at the event, with Carrere tweeting a photo of herself and writing, "Who's up for Wayne's World 3?" That was the only sequel talk at the event as the notion didn't come up once onstage. Rumors of a third movie being in the works began circulating last year, but nobody in the panel seemed interested in discussing the idea of another sequel.

If you lived in the suburbs you were issued a copy. It came in the mail with samples of Tide.

Re: Which Wayne's World movie did you like more?

This thread makes me feel kind of funny, like when we used to climb rope in gym class.

P.S.-I saw Wayne's World three times in theaters. Well, that last time was because the box office attendant wouldn't let me and my friends buy tickets for Alien 3(we were 13) so we settled for Wayne's World again. It's a great movie and so much fun. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. Wayne's World 2 is good also but it has a different vibe than the first one. As a teen, I found it off putting and didn't like it at first but of course, I enjoy it now, just not the same as the first one.

Re: Which Wayne's World movie did you like more?

Didn't Wayne's World 2, Addams Family 2, and Sister Act 2 all get released pretty much the same month, and all of them tanked (in relation to the originals)? Winter of 93 IIRC...

Anyway, WW was definitely a fun movie but lightning in a bottle. The sequel was pretty much warmed over leftovers, but with a few inspired moments. Charlton Heston, the psycho roadie beating people to death with their own shoes, etc.

Yeah, with similar results:

Wayne's World 1 - 2/14/1992 - Domestic: $121m, Foreign: $61.4m (on a $20m budget)
Wayne's World 2 - 12/10/1993 - Domestic: $48.2m (on a $40m budget)

Addams Family - 11/22/1991 - Domestic: $113m, Foreign: $78m (on a $30m budget)
Addams Family Values - 11/19/1993 - Domestic: $48.9m

Sister Act - 5/29/1992 - Domestic: $139m, Foreign: $92m
Sister Act 2 - 12/10/1993 - Domestic: $57.3m

Mrs. Doubtfire (11/24/1993 - $219m domestic, $222m foreign) literally **** punted all of them. Well except Sister Act 2, that was terrible to begin with.

I remember buying Raiders of Lost Ark and The Adams Family at Mcdonalds but I got the Waynes World tape from Costco.

I assume nobody wants Waynes World 3?

Re: Which Wayne's World movie did you like more?

I'd take it before an Austin Powers 4, but something about 50 year old Wayne and 60 year old Garth is disheartening.
