Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. When I feel like characters are my friends, something must've been done really really well.
Also the original Dawn of the Dead is about as perfect as a zombie film gets. Hell, the comment about the two Linklater films applies here too.

As cliche as it is, and I know a lot of people nowadays consider it "overrated" or whatnot, but I consider "Vertigo" to be the most "perfect" movie. After eight or nine viewings it still never fails to leave me in awe (or something like that.)
But I wouldn't ever judge someone's intelligence by something as subjective as their taste in movies.

I was beat to a couple of these:
SE7EN
The Royal Tenenbaums & Rushmore
Would like to add:
Alien (1st one)
The Iron Giant
Spirited Away
The Wages of Fear
& while I recognize that these two aren't perfect for all, I love them both as much as any technically perfect film:
Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2.
It's like that Holly Hunter line in Raising Arizona. "I luh-uh-uh-uh-uuvvvv them sooo much!"

I don't understand the love for Aliens. Maybe it's just one of those great movies I don't like but I find Alien far superior and as for James Cameron's work I find The Terminator and Terminator 2 both better as well.

Kidding of course, but I think of Aliens as the ultimate example of a SciFi action movie. The same way as there are roller coaster enthusiasts who will ride coasters hundreds of times and talk about them, that is Aliens to me. A nonstop assault on the senses, with characters I actually care about. I seriously can't think of a thing about this movie I DONT like. The score by Horner is just awesome.

Oddly enough, just the other day I had compiled a list of every movie that I considered to be perfect and that I legitimately felt could be called the greatest movie ever made. There's exactly 22 films that I feel that way about:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Apocalypse Now
Casablanca
Citizen Kane
City of God
Double Indemnity
Dr. Strangelove
Floating Weeds
The Godfather
Gone with the Wind
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Goodfellas
Hoop Dreams
Léon
M
North by Northwest
Notorious
Raging Bull
The Searchers
Seven Samurai
Sunset Boulevard
Throne of Blood

The work of Martin Scorsese – Whether or not his films are your cup of tea doesn’t change the fact that he has made some of the most ‘perfect’ films in cinematic history.
The Star Wars Trilogy- All 3 of the original Star Wars films are perfect in my opinion & even through George Lucas gets bashed by almost everyone, A New Hope, Empire Strikes back & Return of the Jedi are 3 of the most ‘perfect’ films in the sci-fi genre & in all of cinematic history.
I’d also add Lawrence of Arabia & The Green Mile. I can think of more but these are definitely the ones at the top of the list.

Another vote for Raiders of the Lost Ark!
I have for years considered it to be the perfect movie. It has everything anyone could want. Suspense, Romance, Gore, Humor, Intelligence, Good Acting, Action, excellent Cinematography, special effects that still stand up...everything. It stands with a bang and never gets dull. Even the background characters are interesting and you care about all of them.
It appeals to Joe Six Pack and appeals to Critics. Kids enjoy it as much as Adults.
It is not necessarily my favorite movie of all time...but it is THE perfect movie.
