J.J. Abrams Project "Cloverfield" 1-18-08 Thread.
Figured I'd start this for the hell of it, as some showings of Transformers showed the trailer beforehand, others didn't.
This is JJ Abrams new project (he's a producer rather) and it appears to be a middle to low budget
movie set in Manhattan shot through first person by people on the street. Its set to come out on 1.18.2008 as of now.

I'll just say it sounds similar to the korean movie

How come this is still classified as "untitled" on IMDB and the trailer doesn't even show a title... pretty cool trailer and anything with JJ Abrams attached will get me in the theatre.

Cloverfield (working title) Top secret JJ Abrams project - Trailer with Transformers
This movie came outta nowhere! It is released on January 18th, and there is no cast/director/crew info on IMDB. The trailer doesn't even give a title for the movie. It is produced by JJ Abrams and written by Drew Goddard, a writer for Lost. Looks like an end of the world type film.
Oh, also - Looks awesome!
The trailer was posted on YouTube, but it hasn't been released officially, so this one was taped inside of a movie theater. If that is not allowed to be linked to, just delete the link, but for now I'm putting it up because I think this trailer looks great and people should watch it.

Yeah, the trailer intrigued me a lot. I kept thinking some sort of Godzilla type movie, but it never really shows the threat so it could be anything. That is what I call a teaser trailer. I look forward to hearing more about this movie. Oh, and I was at a DLP showing.

I like the idea of the handheld camera with special effects. It's definitely different for a full length movie. It's also a good way to make the special effects look more realistic. I wonder if Cloverfield is going to be the official name or if they'll change it once it gets closer to coming out. There seems to be a lot of secrecy with this movie, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did change it.

Glad I saw this thread before I went today, so I knew what it was when I saw it. It had no name in the trailer. Just JJ Abrams and 1/18/08. didn't even recognize any actors.
Looks like Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla.

Who else is so iffy about J.J Abrams projects these days that they think he produced the first 23 minutes before leaving it up to the rest of his crew to finish it out?
