If you need a hint: out of all the movies this director has made, ths film is considered his only "horror" effort. Though horror is probably not the correct genre to attach to this flick; "right and proper mindfuck" would be a better fit.

BTW, does anyone here this thread is ready for Part 2? We're already over 1,000 replies, and even the "Show Your Theater/Collection" thread in DVD Talk is on Part 6, and those usually close after a few hundred posts, I think.
