Did they show Corky? My guide showed that The Wild One was substituted so I blew it off.

Nope. That's the second time in a row that Electra/Blue hasn't been followed by another movie from Underground.

And then, what do you know, the nutjob comes after her in a car. Also the man who misses every possible chance he has to seize the gun. I wonder if the film's goal is to call its audience sadists-- the characters continually endure pain but there's never any payoff, by the time the credits roll there's still no satisfaction.
Finally caught the replay earlier tonight. I actually liked how "the sadist" was always thinking ahead of how the victims would plan their escape. Kind of like to make the audience say "oh shit" over and over. I also thought the movie was surprisingly rough for it's time. There were quite a few violent moments that made me think how they got away with certain scenes. But it was probably saved due to the fact that this was an indie production.

Oh, by the way, this is still going on:

IFC's "Grindhouse" really hasn't been too close of delivering the goods the way "Underground" has (Considering that the network has aired the likes of:
Last House on the Left
Female Trouble
Maniac
Tenebrae
Slumber Party Massacre
in the past)
But they're closing the month out with Sleepaway Camp so hopefully that'll be a sign of good things to come.

Is TCM Underground no more or just on hiatus? The website is still up, but the schedule doesn't list anything past July 27.

EDIT: Never mind. Apparently it'll be returning Friday, September 7.

Anybody catch last friday's show? I taped it, but I'm saving it for the Halloween challenge.

Haven't seen Die/Darling yet. Gonna check that out tonight.

The Who - now that's awesome!

But you left this off which movie is playing on the 25th/26th right after The Kids Are Alright:

The Last Waltz starring The Band and directed by Martin Scorsese. A great, great concert film!

They've recently updated the schedule for the entire YEAR:

http://www.tcm.com/2008/underground/schedule.jsp

The show is excellent, but I have 3 major gripes:

1. The second feature isn't always mentioned on the website. Why doesn't every banner indicate a "Double Feature" (Where's tonights "Brotherhood of Satan"?) when there's always a minimum of at least 2 movies aired?

2. They don't run this every Friday of the year ...too many hiatuses.

3. It could use another host. Joe Bob Briggs, anyone?

The TiVo has been set! I've been meaning to check that out for ages.

Just realized TCMU is going on a short hiatus in about a month after the July 25th showing, which is a rerun, and won't return until September 5th ...with another rerun.
