Is the US ever going to see the release of Beowulf & Grendel?

I just found out about this movie and it sounds great! Ive seen that its shown in Canada and even going to come out on DVD over there. Why hasnt it been released here? Will we be able to get the DVD at least or have to import it from Canada?

my friend saw it at the Toronto IFF last Fall, and stated it wasn't all that. I still want to see it though.

There's a Robert Zemeckis big budgeted version coming so I would say no.

Isnt that going to be a cartoon though?

Well since the DVD is coming out in Canada I guess I can get it from amazon.ca. It should be our region anyway right?

I don't think its going to be a cartoon. The creatures are going to be motion captured ala Gollum and Polar Express.
